Aim: To evaluate and compare the effect of potassium iodide (KI) and glutathione (GSH) on tooth discoloration after application of 38% silver diamine fluoride (SDF) in primary molars. Total of 30 primary molars were randomly divided into three groups of 10 each. Teeth were prepared and divided into: Group A-SDF only, Group B-SDF followed immediately by application of KI, and Group C-SDF was mixed with 25 mg of GSH. Final restoration was done using glass ionomer cement. Visual examination and color assessments using spectrophotometer were recorded at three time interval points, that is, day 1, 1 week, and 4 weeks.
Results: Statistical analysis was done using a repeated measures analysis of variances (ANOVA) test. The spectrophotometer results showed that Group A (SDF) exhibited the greatest amount of discoloration at all time intervals, while Group C (SDF + GSH) group was effective in decreasing the discoloration. Whereas, Group B (SDF + KI) significantly reduced the discoloration over the period of time. ( = 0.008).
Conclusion: KI can effectively reduce discoloration after application of 38% SDF. GSH can also be used as an alternative.
Clinical Significance: This two-step treatment for arresting caries can be a practical and low-cost option in areas with limited access to comprehensive dental care.

Background: Preventive dental procedures are cornerstones of caries management.
Introduction: This research aims to analyze the clinical effectiveness of pit and fissure sealants when applied to etched enamel pretreated with solvents compared to the conventional etch and seal technique.
Subjects And Methods: Children and adolescents with clinically healthy occlusal surfaces or noncavitated occlusal carious lesions on permanent first and/or second molars in all four quadrants were randomly allocated into four groups.

This study investigated the structural characteristics of an acidic polysaccharide (SCP-B) isolated from scagassum and the use of SCP-B coatings to enhance the quality and shelf life of golden pompano fillets. The results indicated that the main glucoside bond structure of SCP-B was →3)-α-Fucp-(1 → 4)-β-ManA-(1 → 3)-α-GulA-(1→, whereas the terminal residues of β-ManA-(1 → and α-Fucp-(1 → linked to O-2 of →2,3)-β-Fucp-(1→, and α-GulA-(1 → linked to O-2 of →2,3)-α-GulA-(1→. When the SCP-B concentration reached 3.

Femtosecond lasers represent a novel tool for tattoo removal as sources that can be operated at high power, potentially leading to different removal pathways and products. Consequently, the potential toxicity of its application also needs to be evaluated. In this framework, we present a comparative study of Ti:Sapphire femtosecond laser irradiation, as a function of laser power and exposure time, on water dispersions of Pigment Green 7 (PG7) and the green tattoo ink Green Concentrate (GC), which contains PG7 as its coloring agent.

Objective This in vitro study evaluated the impact of different time intervals on the color stability of glass ionomer cement (GIC) and composite materials bonded to teeth treated with silver diamine fluoride (SDF). Specifically, the study sought to determine if immediate or delayed application of these restorative materials affects the degree of staining caused by SDF. Materials and methods Twenty-eight extracted primary molars with cavitated lesions were randomly divided into four groups, each comprising seven samples.

Heating electronic textiles (e-textiles) are widely used for thermal comfort and energy conservation, but prolonged heating raises concerns about heat-related illnesses, especially in the elderly. Despite advancements, achieving universal user satisfaction remains difficult due to diverse thermal needs. This paper introduces an intelligent thermochromic heating e-textile with an artificial intelligence (AI)-based temperature control system for optimized personal comfort and color indicators for elderly caregivers.
