The electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CORR) using renewable electricity sources could provide a sustainable solution for generating valuable chemicals, such as formate salt or formic acid. However, an efficient, stable, and scalable electrode generating formate at industrially viable current densities (>100 mA cm) is yet to be developed. Sn or In-based catalysts in gas diffusion electrodes (GDE) can efficiently produce formate.

Intermittent deep tillage increases soil quality and ecosystem multifunctionality in a Fluvo-aquic soil on the North China Plain.

Key Laboratory of Arable Land Quality Conservation in the Huanghuaihai Plain, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, College of Resources and Environment, Henan Agricultural University, Zhengzhou, 450046, China. Electronic address:

Intensive tillage operations often disrupt soil structure and accelerate the decomposition of organic matter, resulting in negative long-term impacts on soil health. Thus, identifying sustainable tillage practices is key for enhancing soil nutrient cycling and improving soil biochemical and biological properties. This study evaluated the effects of five tillage modes on soil quality and ecosystem multifunctionality (EMF) over three years in the North China Plain, where rotary tillage (RT) has degraded soil structure and hindered wheat yield increases.

Supplementation with far-red light in controlled environment agriculture production can enhance yield by triggering the shade avoidance syndrome. However, the effectiveness of this yield enhancement can be further improved through intermittent far-red light supplementation. In this study, the effects are explored of varying far-red light photon intensities and intermittent exposure durations-specifically at 5, 15, 30, and 45 min intervals-on the growth and development of lettuce () in plant factories, while maintaining a constant red light photon flux and daily light integral.

Background And Objective: The Scania Accelerated Intermittent Theta-burst Implementation Study (SATIS) aimed to investigate the tolerability, preliminary effectiveness, and practical feasibility of an accelerated intermittent theta burst stimulation (aTBS) protocol in treating depression.

Methods: We used an open-label observational design, recruiting 20 patients (aged 19-84 years) from two public brain stimulation centers in Sweden. During the five-day treatment period and at a follow-up visit after 30 days we closely monitored adverse events and collected self-rated side effect data.

Purpose: Intermittent hypoxia (IH), a defining feature of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), is associated with heart damage and linked to transient receptor potential canonical channel 5 (TRPC5). Nonetheless, the function of TRPC5 in OSA-induced cardiac injury remains uncertain. For this research, we aimed to explore the role and potential mechanism of TRPC5 in cardiomyocyte injury induced by intermittent hypoxia.
