Physiotherapists are critically positioned to integrate education into patient care, including pain science education (PSE) to enhance management and outcomes. Anecdotally, many physiotherapists report difficulty providing PSE in private practice settings. Here, we aimed to explore current PSE use, knowledge, and barriers to implementation.

Background: Despite an epidemic of end-stage kidney disease in the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, disparities in access to kidney transplantation persist. The journey to a successful kidney transplant is long, with an initial suitability assessment required before waitlist-specific activities begin. In an Aboriginal Community Controlled renal service, we aimed to: (i) design and implement a continuous quality improvement (CQI) approach to transplant suitability assessment, (ii) provide transplant suitability assessments for all patients of the service, (iii) describe what temporary contraindications to kidney transplantation should be the focus of health service improvements, (iv) explore participant experiences with the suitability assessment process, and (v) use our findings to inform pre- and post-transplant model of care development within Kimberley Renal Services.

Background: Achieving a durable mitral line block using radiofrequency as a part of an anatomical approach for ablation in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation or for treating peri-mitral flutter has always been challenging due to the complex anatomy of the mitral isthmus. Epicardial ablation via the coronary sinus and the vein of Marshall has been proposed to help create durable lesions. Recently, a novel lattice-tip catheter using pulsed field ablation has shown promising results for creating mitral lines, despite limited data.

Bacterial degradation of ubiquitous and persistent steroids such as steroid hormones is important for their removal from the environment. Initial studies of steroid degradation in anaerobic bacteria suggested that ring-cleaving hydrolases are involved in oxygen-independent sterane skeleton degradation. However, the enzymes involved in ring A cleavage of the common intermediate androsta-1,4-diene-3,17-dione have remained unknown.

Placement of a laparoscopic adjustable gastric band (LAGB) is a procedure used in bariatric surgery. Despite its decrease in popularity due to its high reoperation rate and suboptimal clinical response, managing the complications of LAGBs remains an important component of general and bariatric surgeons' work. Only two case studies describe return to theatre to excise scarring, which has continued to cause symptoms after LAGB removal.
