Photo-thermal catalysis, leveraging both thermal and non-thermal solar contributions, emerges as a sustainable approach for fuel and chemical synthesis. In this study, an Fe-based catalyst derived from a metal-organic framework is presented for efficient photo-thermal ammonia (NH) decomposition. Optimal conditions, under light irradiation without external heating, result in a notable 55% NH conversion.

Multifunctional coatings have great application value in the protection of Marine equipment, ships and ship facilities, but they still suffer from the disadvantages of high preparation cost and complicated synthesis methods. Herein, employing a simple method to synthesize black carbon nitride (BCN), as the filler in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) to construct BCN/PDMS composite coating with a multifunctional anti-corrosion/antifouling coating capable of photothermal self-healing property. Experimental results exhibit that the BCN/PDMS coating can still possesses excellent corrosion resistance after 28 d of immersion in the simulated seawater, and the impedance modulus still manages to reach 6.

This study focuses on enhancing solar energy capture efficiency by introducing innovative hybrid nanofluids for use in solar thermal collectors, whose performance largely depends on the absorption properties of the working fluid. The newly developed hybrid nanofluids, MXene/NH2-UiO66 (Zr) (noted as MX/UO66) and MXene/MIL-88B (Fe) (noted as MX/ML88), were synthesized using an in-situ solvothermal method, combining annealed Ti3C2Tx MXenes with water-stable metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). These nanofluids achieved high efficiency at low concentrations, providing both economic and performance benefits.

In today's era of rapid computing, advanced big data analytics enables precise results and efficient trend analysis. By leveraging these tools, the influence of various film thicknesses of Colored Solar Selective Absorbers (CSSAs) on solar absorption efficiency (α) and chromaticity was investigated. A clear and visually informative Chromaticity Coordinate Distribution (CCD) versus α diagram was constructed within the CIE xy chromaticity diagram, establishing a correlation between chromaticity and α.

Highly Thermally Conductive Liquid Crystalline Epoxy Resin Vitrimers with Reconfigurable, Shape-Memory, Photo-Thermal, and Closed-Loop Recycling Performance.

The low thermal conductivity, poor toughness, and non-reprocessability of thermosetting epoxy resins severely restrict their applications and sustainable development in flexible electronics. Herein, liquid crystalline epoxy (LCE) and dynamic ester and disulfide bonds are introduced into the cured network of bisphenol A epoxy resin (E-51) to construct highly thermally conductive flexible liquid crystalline epoxy resin (LCER) vitrimers. LCER vitrimers demonstrate adjustable mechanical properties by varying the ratio of LCE to E-51, allowing it to transition from soft to strong.
