Objectives: This study was designed to evaluate the thickness of the central macula, the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), and the ganglion cell complex (GCC) in individuals with congenital red-green color vision deficiency (CVD) using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT).
Methods: This study included 22 males with a red-green CVD (Group 1) and 22 males with normal color vision (Group 2). The Ishihara test was used to determine CVD. SD-OCT was used to evaluate the central macula, RNFL, and GCC measurements of all of the study participants. The quantitative data of the 2 groups were compared. The Kruskal-Wallis test was used for the statistical analysis and a p value <0.05 was considered significant.
Results: The mean central macula thickness observed in Group 1 and 2 was 255.00±25.50 µm and 248.95±24.70 µm, respectively. The mean RNFL thickness of Group 1 and 2 was 110.66±14.70 µm and 109.49±9.90 µm, respectively, and the mean GCC thickness of Group 1 and 2 was 97.70±10.80 µm and 97.56±5.10 µm, respectively. There were no significant differences between the groups in the assessment of the central macula, RNFL, or GCC thickness (p=0.20, p=0.34, p=0.37).
Conclusion: The results of this study suggested that congenital red-green CVD does not affect the thickness of the central macula, RNFL, or GCC. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to evaluate the thickness of the GCC in individuals with congenital red-green CVD.

Purpose: To describe a case of central retinal artery occlusion following scleral buckling procedure combined with pneumoretinopexy in a patient with sickle cell (HbSC) retinopathy (SCR).
Methods: Scleral buckling procedure, combined with injection of 0.3 ml of 100% perfluoropropane (C3F8) gas in the vitreous, was performed without intra-operative complications under general anaesthesia as treatment of two separate macula-sparing rhegmatogenous retinal detachments secondary to round holes, involving superior and inferior retina respectively, in the right eye of a 26-year-old Afro-Caribbean female with sickle cell disease.

Purpose: Spectral-domain OCT angiography (SD-OCTA) scans were used in an algorithm developed for swept-source OCT angiography (SS-OCTA) scans to determine if SD-OCTA scans yielded similar results for the measurement of hyperreflective foci (HRF) in intermediate age-related macular degeneration (iAMD).
Design: Retrospective study.
Participants: Forty eyes from 35 patients with iAMD.

The round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) is a benthic fish species native to Central Eurasia but has colonized much of the waterways in the Laurentian Great Lakes in North America. While they are known to produce acoustic signals that aid in conspecific agonistic and reproductive interactions, the species does not possess a swim bladder and thus does not have any hearing specializations that would allow for sound pressure detection. Here, the auditory evoked potentials from saccular hair cells were characterized to determine the frequency response and auditory sensitivity of the saccule.

To assess the choroidal vessels in healthy eyes using a novel three-dimensional (3D) deep learning approach. In this cross-sectional retrospective study, swept-source OCT 6 × 6 mm scans on Plex Elite 9000 device were obtained. Automated segmentation of the choroidal layer was achieved using a deep-learning ResUNet model along with a volumetric smoothing approach.

Purpose: To describe a new feature in pathologic myopia: perivascular patchy chorioretinal atrophy (PVCA) DESIGN: Cross-sectional study METHODS: 604 eyes of 312 highly myopic patients followed at Strasbourg University Hospitals were reviewed for the presence of PVCA lesions. Demographic, clinical, and paraclinical data (ultra-widefield retinography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography images) were analyzed. Controls were matched for age, sex, and axial length (AL).
