Fish nocardiosis is a chronic, systemic, granulomatous disease in aquaculture. has been reported to be one of the main pathogenic bacteria of fish nocardiosis. There are few studies on the associated virulence factors and pathogenesis of . Alanine dehydrogenase (ALD), which may be a secreted protein, was discovered by analysis using bioinformatics methods throughout the whole genomic sequence of . Nevertheless, the roles of ALD and its homologs in the pathogenesis of are not demonstrated. In this study, the function of ALD (NsALD) was preliminarily investigated by gene cloning, host cell subcellular localization, secreted protein identification, and cell apoptosis detection. Identification of the extracellular products of mass spectrometry (MS) analysis revealed that NsALD is a secreted protein. In addition, subcellular localization of NsALD-GFP recombinant protein in fathead minnow (FHM) cells showed that the strong green fluorescence co-localized with the mitochondria. Moreover, apoptosis assays demonstrated that the overexpression of NsALD induces apoptosis in FHM cells. This study may lay the foundation for further exploration of the function of NsALD and facilitate further understanding of the pathogenic mechanism and the associated virulence factors of .

Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene is involved in homocysteine and folic acid metabolism. Tumour suppressor protein TP53 gene maintains cellular and genetic integrity. To date, no studies associated the MTHFR C677T rs1801133 and TP53 Pro72Arg rs1042522 with CRP levels and methotrexate (a folic acid antagonist) treatment outcomes in psoriatic arthritis (PsA) patients.

Pregnancy complications pose challenges for both pregnant women and obstetricians globally, with the pathogenesis of many remaining poorly understood. Recently coined as a mode of cell death, cuproptosis has been proposed but remains largely unexplored. This process involves copper overload, resulting in the accumulation of fatty acylated proteins and subsequent loss of iron-sulfur cluster proteins.

Purpose: Mammary carcinoma is comprised heterogeneous groups of cells with different metastatic potential. 4T1 mammary carcinoma cells metastasized to heart (4THM), liver (4TLM) and brain (4TBM) and demonstrate cancer-stem cell phenotype. Using these cancer cells we found thatTGF-β is the top upstream regulator of metastatic process.

Psoriasis is an inflammatory dermatosis that features overproliferation and inflammatory reaction of keratinocytes. A study reported that IL-22 is involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis by mediating miR-124 to regulate the expression of fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 in keratinocytes. A microRNA may target multiple target genes.

The therapeutic potential of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in bone regeneration is noteworthy; however, their clinical application is impeded by low yield and limited efficacy. This study investigated the effect of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) on the therapeutic efficacy of EVs derived from periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) and preliminarily explored its mechanism. PDLSCs were cultured with osteogenic media and stimulated with or without LIPUS, and then EVs and LIPUS-stimulated EVs (L-EVs) were isolated separately.
