In this study, we verified the effectiveness of Kampo medicine by evaluating the changes in the feature values of facial skin texture and microcirculation at two distinct tissue depths (subcutaneous 2 mm and 8 mm). A total of 80 patients who took the Kampo formula participated in this study, and the changes in the feature values of facial skin texture and microcirculation were measured before and after Kampo treatment. The treatment period lasted 6-18 months, according to the doctor's judgment. The total area of the sulci cutis and the average thickness of the sulci cutis significantly decreased ( < 0.05), and the pixels of the grayscale image increased after Kampo treatment ( < 0.05). Moreover, the blood flow velocity at 8 mm depth significantly increased after Kampo treatment ( < 0.05). In this study, we specifically noted changes in the skin texture and microcirculation after Kampo treatment.

Background: Skin aging is inevitable. Wrinkles, skin texture abnormalities, senile hyperpigmentation, loss of skin tone, dryness, atrophy, and telangiectasias represent some of the hallmarks of aged skin. Skin rejuvenation can be addressed by topical therapies, such as topical retinoids and antioxidants or physical modalities with energy-based devices, all providing acceptable outcomes.

This study aimed to develop in vivo methods for assessing facial anti-glycation and anti-aging effects and to investigate the link between glycation and aging signs. We utilized an AGE reader to measure AGEs levels on the face and arms, establishing a correlation to validate the reader's use for facial AGEs detection. Then the product's 7-day anti-glycation effect was evaluated.

Skin cancer is one of the most prevalent and harmful forms of cancer, with early detection being crucial for successful treatment outcomes. However, current skin cancer detection methods often suffer from limitations such as reliance on manual inspection by clinicians, inconsistency in diagnostic accuracy, and a lack of personalized recommendations based on patient-specific data. In our work, we presented a Personalized Recommendation System to handle Skin Cancer at an early stage based on Hybrid Model (PRSSCHM).

Background: Noninvasive aesthetic procedures for facial rejuvenation are gaining popularity. Conventional treatments, such as radiofrequency (RF) and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), primarily improve skin quality but do not address the deeper musculoaponeurotic structures that affect facial laxity. A novel approach that delivers synchronized RF with high intensity facial electrical stimulation (HIFES) thought to target both the skin and underlying musculoaponeurotic framework to effectively enhance facial laxity has been investigated.

Purpose: To describe a technique using retroauricular scalp graft for eyebrow reconstruction, along with problems encountered and countermeasures in treatment.
Methods: We present a patient with eyebrow loss following resection of a malignant schwannoma. We initially covered the defect from the upper eyelid to the eyebrow area with artificial dermis for hemostasis and to increase the granulation of the graft bed.
