This article discusses the composition and transmission of early Buddhist texts with specific reference to sutras. After briefly summarizing the main reasons why it is likely that these oral compositions were designed to be memorized and transmitted verbatim, I will discuss the main types of changes that these texts underwent in the course of their transmission and the reasons such changes occurred, then attempt to give an account of the challenge that change, particularly intentional change, posed to the oral transmission of fixed, memorized texts.

Background: In Taiwan, as the population ages, palliative care services (PCS) have expanded significantly to include comprehensive benefit plans for critically ill individuals, supported by reimbursements from the National Health Insurance program. However, incorporating palliative care into the medical management of these patients presents several challenges. We aim to evaluate the effects of palliative care interventions on medical resources in end-of-life scenarios, to promote earlier palliative care access and provide high-quality healthcare services for patients.

Background: Patients with typical reflux symptoms and normal acid exposure time (AET) are classified as either reflux hypersensitivity (RH) or functional heartburn (FH), some of whom respond to proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). We determined if esophageal psychophysiological parameters predict PPI response in symptomatic RH and FH patients.
Methods: We prospectively recruited adults with heartburn diagnosed with RH or FH on 24-h impedance-pH monitoring off PPI.

We aimed to explore the therapeutic efficacy of miR-7704-modified extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (HUCMSCs) for osteoarthritis (OA) treatment. In vitro experiments demonstrated the successful transfection of miR-7704 into HUCMSCs and the isolation of EVs from these cells. In vivo experiments used an OA mouse model to assess the effects of the injection of miR-7704-modified EVs intra-articularly.

Early detection of early-stage esophageal cancer (ECA) is crucial for timely intervention and improved treatment outcomes. Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies offer promising avenues for enhancing diagnostic accuracy in this context. This study utilized a dataset comprising 3984 white light images (WLIs) and 3666 narrow-band images (NBIs).
