This paper investigates the uniqueness of parameters via persistence of excitation for switched linear systems. The main contribution is a much weaker sufficient condition on the regressors to be persistently exciting that guarantees the uniqueness of the parameter sets and also provides new insights in understanding the relation among different subsystems. It is found that for uniquely determining the parameters of switched linear systems, the needed minimum number of samples derived from our sufficient condition is much smaller than that reported in the literature.

Behavioral endpoints are of increasing interest in toxicology because of their sensitivity, but require clear guidance for experimental design. This study describes the design of a hypoxia chamber for use with pond snails, . Studies assessing the switch from water- to air-breathing in hypoxic conditions have previously utilized methods that neglect intricacies of animal behavior such as handling stress and acclimation.

Nanozymes open up new avenues for amplifying signals in photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensing, which are yet limited by the generated small-molecule signal reporters. Herein, a multifunctional nanoenzyme of Pt NPs/CoSAs@NC consisting of Co single atoms on N-doped porous carbon decorated with Pt nanoparticles is successfully synthesized for cascade catalytic polymerization of dopamine for constructing a highly sensitive photocurrent-polarity-switching PEC biosensing platform. Taking protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) as a target model, Pt NPs/CoSAs@NC nanoenzymes are linked to magnetic microspheres via phosphorylated peptides.

Reactivating the embryonic ζ-globin gene represents a potential therapeutic approach to ameliorate the severe clinical phenotype of α-thalassemia and sickle cell disease. The transcription factor MYB has been extensively proven to be a master regulator of the γ-globin gene, but its role in the regulation of ζ-globin remains incompletely understood. Here, we report a mechanistic study on the derepression of ζ-globin both and .

Homeostasis is essential in biological neural networks, optimizing information processing and experience-dependent learning by maintaining the balance of neuronal activity. However, conventional two-terminal memristors have limitations in implementing homeostatic functions due to the absence of global regulation ability. Here, three-terminal oxide memtransistor-based homeostatic synapses are demonstrated to perform highly linear synaptic weight update and enhanced accuracy in neuromorphic computing.

The triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has been proved to be a very promising marine energy harvesting technology. Herein, we have developed a high-performance triboelectric nanogenerator (SD-TENG) with low friction, high durability, swing-induced counter-rotating motion mechanism (SICRMM) and dual potential energy storage and release strategy (DPESRS). The unique counter-rotating motion mechanism enabled SD-TENG to convert the external linear and swing motion energy into rotation motion energy of the inner and outer cylinders, and then converted it into a controllable power output.
