Importance: Data characterizing the severity and changing prevalence of bone mineral density (BMD) deficits and associated nonfracture consequences among childhood cancer survivors decades after treatment are lacking.
Objective: To evaluate risk for moderate and severe BMD deficits in survivors and to identify long-term consequences of BMD deficits.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This cohort study used cross-sectional and longitudinal data from the St Jude Lifetime (SJLIFE) cohort, a retrospectively constructed cohort with prospective follow-up.

Background: Right ventricular (RV) failure is a well-recognized pivotal prognostic factor of adverse outcomes in pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH), while RV dilation provides significant implications for adaptive or maladaptive changes. PAH is a predominant cause of mortality among patients with connective tissue disease (CTD). This study aims to elucidate the prognostic significance of RV morphology, as assessed by echocardiography (ECHO), in with CTD associated with PAH (CTD-PAH).

Development of specific therapies addressing the underlying diseases' mechanisms constitutes the basis of precision medicine. Transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTR-CM) is an exemplar of precise therapeutic approach in the field of heart failure and cardiomyopathies. A better understanding of the underlying pathophysiology, more precise data of its epidemiology, and advances in imaging techniques that allow non-invasive diagnosis have fostered the development of new and very effective specific therapies for ATTR-CM.

The surface morphology of the developing mammalian brain is crucial for understanding brain function and dysfunction. Computational modeling offers valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms for early brain folding. Recent findings indicate significant regional variations in brain tissue growth, while the role of these variations in cortical development remains unclear.

Among 3127 episodes of suspected infective endocarditis, the 2023 Duke-International Society for Cardiovascular Infectious Diseases clinical criteria showed an accuracy of 90% for infective endocarditis diagnosis. A new heart murmur was present in 690 (22%) episodes. Excluding imaging and surgical findings decreased the accuracy to 73%, while using the physical examination criterion slightly improved the accuracy to 78%.
