Objective: Identify rate and associated risk factors for dehiscence following gastrotomy for foreign material removal.
Methods: Medical records from 2 private practice emergency and referral hospitals were reviewed, and history, laboratory values, intraoperative findings, and outcomes were collected on 271 dogs and 31 cats (n = 302).
Results: Hospital A performed 222 procedures and Hospital B performed 80 procedures.

Background: Patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) often require prosthetic valve implantation, increasing their lifetime risk of developing prosthetic valve endocarditis (PVE). The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence, risk factors, and outcomes of PVE in adults with CHD.
Method: Retrospective cohort study of adults with CHD and prior prosthetic valve implantation (2003-2023).

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma during pregnancy is extremely rare. Overall, including our case, only 19 cases confirmed antepartum have been reported to date. We report the case of a 37 year-old woman at 24 weeks of pregnancy in whom a pancreatic adenocarcinoma was identified during investigation of a suspected acute pancreatitis.
