Women suffering from chronic vulvar pain seek help in the healthcare system on numerous occasions. The most common type is provoked localized vulvodynia (PVD) in which the pain has been persistent for more than three months without identifiable cause. The aetiology of PVD is multifactorial and the diagnosis is based upon medical history and gynaecological assessment including a bio-psycho-social evaluation. Danish and international guidelines point to the advantages of a multidisciplinary approach, where physical, psycho-sexual assessment is integrated in a multidisciplinary treatment programme as summarized in this review.

London Neurodegenerative Diseases Brain Bank, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King's College London, London, UK.

The diagnosis of abusive head trauma (AbHT) in children is a challenging one that needs to be differentiated from natural disease and accidental head injury (AcHT). There is increasing evidence from the Neuroradiology field showing spinal cord injury in children subject to AbHT, which has, so far, been poorly investigated pathologically. In this study we retrospectively reviewed the forensic records of 110 paediatric head injury cases over an eight-year-period.

Background: Oral cancer is a predominant and aggressive form of head and neck cancer with limited treatment options. Stevioside, a naturally occurring biocompatible compound, has gained attention for its potential therapeutic properties, although its molecular mechanistic role in OSCC merely understood. This study aims to elucidate the impact of stevioside on OSCC cells, focusing on its inhibitory effects on cell proliferation and epithelial-mesenchymal transitions (EMT).

Exfoliative cytology has proven to be a valuable diagnostic tool in the early detection of malignant neoplasms. However, its application in the oral cavity has been met with skepticism and limited investigation due to the perception that clinical examination alone is sufficient for early diagnosis. Nonetheless, recent research efforts have focused on the utility of exfoliative cytology in oral cavity neoplasms, motivated by the high mortality rate associated with oral cancer.

Background: Multidisciplinary programs are the first recommendation for non-specific chronic low-back pain, but implementing this type of program is complicated to get up and running. The primary aim of this study was to assess the feasibility and appropriateness of the PAINDOC multidisciplinary program for subjects with chronic low-back pain. The secondary objectives were to evaluate the decrease in pain intensity, pain-related disability and pain catastrophizing, as well as the improvement in quality of life with this program.
