Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the utility of computed tomography (CT) guidance in difficult lumbar puncture (LP) cases, which had a history of at least one unsuccessful blind attempt at LP (no imaging guidance), and to note potential advantages and disadvantages of the use of CT guidance.

Methods: In total, 32 CT-guided LP procedures performed between June 2019 and March 2021 were included. All LP indications were recorded. The procedures where the cerebrospinal fluid flow was provided by a single puncture were evaluated as "primary technical success." "Secondary technical success" corresponded with the procedures in which additional puncture was necessary for the cerebrospinal fluid flow.

Results: Intrathecal nusinersen injections due to spinal muscular atrophy constituted the largest procedure group of this study. Among 32 procedures, primary and secondary technical success rates were 78.12% and 28.57%, respectively. There were no major procedural complications.

Conclusions: Computed tomography-guided LP is an effective interventional technique offering an alternative approach in the setting of difficult LP procedures.

Objective: To test the safety and efficacy of combination treatment for pleural mesothelioma (PM) with intracavitary cisplatin-fibrin (cis-fib) plus hemithoracic irradiation (IR) applied after lung-sparing surgery in an orthotopic immunocompetent rat model.

Methods: We randomized male F344 rats into 5 groups: cis-fib (n = 9), 10 Gy IR (n = 6), 20 Gy IR (n = 9), cis-fib+10 Gy IR (n = 6), and cis-fib+20 Gy IR (n = 9). Subpleural tumor implantation was performed on day 0 with 1 million syngeneic rat mesothelioma cells (IL45-luciferase).

Background: Solid lung lesions are common in clinical practice, and percutaneous thermal ablation has been shown to be an effective treatment for these lesions. While computed tomography (CT)-guided microwave ablation (MWA) therapy is frequently used for adult solid lesions, it is rarely considered for pediatric cases.

Case Presentation: A case of an 8-year-old child with adrenal neuroblastoma and a left upper lung mass.

Nasal carcinomas in dogs are locally invasive neoplasms with a low metastatic rate that pose significant treatment challenges due to their location and aggressiveness. This study evaluates the safety, feasibility, and therapeutic outcomes of computed tomography-guided radiofrequency ablation (CT-guided RFA) in 15 dogs diagnosed with nasal adenocarcinoma. All patients underwent staging and histopathological diagnosis before treatment.

CT-guided adaptive radiotherapy (ART) for the treatment of pancreatic adenocarcinoma is rapidly increasing and has been shown to provide advanced treatment tools comparable to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided adaptive therapy. Here, we provide the first case report of a local pancreatic recurrence treatment after definitive resection using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT)-guided ART (CT-guided ART) enabled by HyperSight imaging (Varian Medical Systems, Inc., Palo Alto, CA, USA) for daily delineation of organs-at-risk (OARs) and target to improve the quality of online ART.

Introduction: Local recurrence for upper tract urothelial carcinoma typically occurs within 2 years post-surgery. We report a rare case of retroperitoneal recurrence as squamous cell carcinoma 10 years after nephroureterectomy.

Case Presentation: A 67-year-old female was referred to our urology department for a left ureteral tumor.
