The heterointerface between a semiconducting metal oxide and a perovskite critically impacts on the overall performance of perovskite solar cells (PVSCs). Herein, we report a feasible yet effective strategy to suppress the interfacial reaction between nickel oxide and the perovskite via chemical passivation with self-assembled dyad molecules, which leads to the simultaneous improvement of the power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) and operational lifetimes of inverted PVSCs. As a result, inverted PVSCs consisting of simple methylammonium iodide perovskites have achieved an excellent PCE of 20.94% and decent photostability with 93% of the initial value after 600 h of 1 sun equivalent illumination. Moreover, this strategy can be readily translated into slot-die fabrication of perovskite modules, achieving a high PCE of 14.90% with an area of 19.16 cm (no shade in the interconnecting area) and a geometrical fill factor of 93%. Overall, this work provides an effective strategy to stabilize the vulnerable heterointerface in PVSCs.

Coronaviruses (CoV), belonging to the family , were not considered dangerous pathogens until the outbreaks of SARS, MERS, and more recently, COVID-19. The coronaviruses causing these respective diseases/syndromes, SARS, MERS, and SARS-CoV2, share high sequence and structural similarities. COVID-19 continues to have a global impact on human health and the economy.

The bottom-up synthesis of discrete tubular molecules that mimic the structural features of carbon nanotubes has been a long-standing pursuit for synthetic chemists. As the shortest segments of armchair-type carbon nanotubes, cycloparaphenylenes are regarded as ideal macrocyclic building blocks for achieving this goal. Here we report the synthesis of a helical tubular molecule featuring three diyne linkers between two site-specifically functionalized [9]cycloparaphenylenes.

Efficient formation of excited triplet states on metal-free photosensitizer dyads, bodipy-phenoxazine (BDP-PXZ) and tetramethylbodipy-phenoxazine (TMBDP-PXZ), was investigated using calculations. We revealed the reason why two different triplet transient species, CT and BDP, can co-exist only for BDP-PXZ as observed in the previous study with the TR-EPR measurements. It was found that the state mixing of CT enables the transition from CT to CT and BDP states only for BDP-PXZ.

The emergence of new SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOC) is a propulsion for accelerated potential therapeutic discovery. SARS-CoV-2's main protease (Mpro), essential for host cell viral replication, is a pre-eminent druggable protein target. Here, we perform extensive drug re-profiling of the comprehensive Excelra database, which compiles various under-trial drug candidates for COVID-19 treatment.

Expansion of MHC-IIB Has Constrained the Evolution of MHC-IIA in Passerines.

The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) is central in adaptive immunity, with the highly polymorphic MHC genes encoding antigen-presenting molecules. Two MHC class II (MHC-II) loci, DA1 and DA2, predate the radiation of extant birds and persist throughout much of the avian phylogeny. Within each locus, the MHC-II molecules are encoded by A-genes (DAA) and B-genes (DAB), which are arranged in A-B dyads.
