Avian chlamydiosis is an acute or chronic disease of birds after infection by . Although is the primary agent of the disease, two additional species, and , have also been recognized as potential disease agents. Therefore, the diagnosis of avian chlamydiosis requires differential identification of these avian species. The objective of the present study was to develop a multiplex real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay to rapidly differentiate between these three species of avian (, , and ) as well as to detect the genus . Specific genetic regions of the three species were identified by comparative analysis of their genome sequences. Also, the genus-specific region was selected based on 23S rRNA sequences. PCR primers and probes specific to the genus and each species were designed and integrated in the multiplex real-time PCR assay. The assay was highly efficient (94.8-100.7%). It could detect fewer than 10 copies of each target sequence of the genus and each species. Twenty-five control and field DNA samples were differentially identified while 20 other bacterial strains comprising 10 bacterial genera were negative in the assay. This assay allows rapid, sensitive, and specific detection of the genus and the three species of avian in a single protocol that is suitable for routine diagnostic purposes in avian diagnostic laboratories.

The complex contains important opportunistic pathogens of humans and vertebrate animals, as well as insects and other invertebrates. To date, the methods used for the identification of species within the genus , including PCR assays, have poor discriminatory power and may require further molecular typing or genomic sequence analysis to determine clinical relevance. We developed a duplex TaqMan probe-based quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) assay targeting the gene, which is involved in chitin degradation and transport, and the gene, which is involved in urease production.

Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy is a cornerstone treatment for many cancers, but it can induce severe immunotoxicity, including acute interstitial nephritis (AIN). Currently, kidney biopsy is required to differentiate ICI-AIN from other causes of acute kidney injury (AKI). However, this invasive approach can lead to morbidity, delayed glucocorticoid treatment for patients with AIN, and unnecessarily prolonged suspension of ICI therapy in non-AIN patients.

Achieving a stable deep molecular response with the option to discontinue tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) treatment is the new therapeutic goal for patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Several studies have shown that individuals expressing the BCR::ABL1 e14a2 transcript achieve a major molecular response more rapidly than those with the e13a2 transcript. However, technical issues may have confounded these observations, and data for pediatric patients are limited.

Colibacillosis is a disease caused by avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) isolates which results in significant morbidity and mortality in poultry, as well as in economic loses. In order to identify APEC strains in a population of 898 E. coli isolates from poultry samples collected from different avian flocks located in the Valencian Region, Spain, we analysed the most significantly related to highly-pathogenic colibacillosis virulence-associated genes (VAGs) (hlyF, iroN, iss, iutA and ompT) by multiplex real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).

Acute respiratory infections (ARIs) are a leading cause of death in children under five globally. The seasonal trends and profiles of respiratory viruses vary by region and season. Due to limited information and the population's vulnerability, we conducted the hospital-based surveillance of respiratory viruses in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
