Published: August 2022

Although breast surgeries for aesthetic or reconstructive purposes are regularly performed, no focus has been laid on establishing an adequate and reliable volumetry method. While CT and MRI scan represent methods that are already in clinical use, the 3D scan  is a novel and promising tool, easy to use with the possibility to measure the anatomic breast volume in an upright position. Nevertheless, its reliability is broadly underinvestigated. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE V : This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Background: Recent studies provide strong evidence for a key role of skeletal muscle pathophysiology in myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). In a 2021 review article on the pathophysiology of ME/CFS, we postulated that hypoperfusion and ischemia can result in excessive sodium and calcium overload in skeletal muscles of ME/CFS patients to cause mitochondrial damage. Since then, experimental evidence has been provided that supports this concept.

As rates of obesity rise worldwide, incidence of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), formerly referred to as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, is increasing, worsening the burden of healthcare systems. The council of the Federation of International Societies for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (FISPGHAN) identified the topic of MASLD epidemiology, treatment, and prevention as a global priority issue to be addressed by an expert team, with the goal to describe feasible and evidence-based actions that may contribute to reducing MASLD risk. The FISPGHAN member societies nominated experts in the field.

Low-level viraemia (LLV) following antiretroviral therapy (ART) in people living with HIV (PLWH) has not received sufficient attention. To the determine the prevalence of LLV and its association with virological failure (VF), we systematically reviewed evidence-based interventions for PLWH. We searched PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, and Web of Science from inception to 22 May 2024.

Objective: Inflammatory factors play a crucial role in the onset and progression of heart failure. To further explore the causal relationship between inflammatory factors and heart failure, we employed bidirectional Mendelian randomization analysis to investigate the causal links between 91 inflammatory cytokines and heart failure.

Methods: We conducted our study using the bidirectional Mendelian randomization approach.

Objective: Inflammation and nutritional status are closely associated with the mortality risk of survivors of cardio-cerebrovascular events. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between inflammation and nutritional indices and mortality among, identifying the most predictive indices.

Methods: This study included cohort data of the survivors of major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in 1999-2010.
