Objective: We aimed to evaluate the clinical profile and radiological findings of children with nutcracker syndrome (NCS) and to assess the association between the parameters.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of the clinical, laboratory and radiological parameters of children diagnosed with NCS between January, 2011 and October, 2017 was done.
Results: Of a total of 29 patients [19 girls, 65.5%] with NCS, having a mean (SD) age of 10.8 years, 72.4% had BMI <-2SD. Approximately half of the patients (51.7%) were asymptomatic. Left flank pain was commonest (9/29; 31%) symptom, followed by macroscopic hematuria (4/29; 13.8%). Isolated proteinuria was seen in 9 children. There was no significant difference between the symptomatic and asymptomatic patients in terms of Doppler ultrasonography findings. All patients were followed up conservatively, 5 received enalapril therapy for moderate proteinuria.
Conclusion: NCS should be considered in children, especially with low BMI, presenting with orthostatic proteinuria and hematuria, with or without left flank pain after ruling out the common causes.

Background: T cells are involved in every stage of tumor development and significantly influence the tumor microenvironment (TME). Our objective was to assess T-cell marker gene expression profiles, develop a predictive risk model for human papilloma virus (HPV)-negative oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) utilizing these genes, and examine the correlation between the risk score and the immunotherapy response.
Methods: We acquired scRNA-seq data for HPV-negative OSCC from the GEO datasets.

Introduction: Phantom limb pain (PLP) is a neuropathic syndrome experienced by the majority of amputees. Various treatment options are available for amputees suffering from PLP including pharmacological, psychological and neuromodulation techniques. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive neuromodulation technique that has proven its efficacy in alleviating PLP.

Background: Recent proteomic studies have documented that Long COVID in adults is characterized by a pro-inflammatory signature with thromboinflammation. However, if similar events happen also in children with Long COVID has never been investigated.
Methods: We performed an extensive protein analysis of blood plasma from pediatric patients younger than 19 years of age Long COVID and a control group of children with acute COVID-19, MIS-C, and healthy controls resulted similar for sex distribution and age.

This experimental phantom study investigates current standard of care protocols in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), energy-integrating-detector (EID) CT, and photon-counting-detector (PCD) CT regarding their potential in delineation of dental root canals. Artificial accessory canals (diameters: 1000, 600, 400, 300 and 200 μm) were drilled into three bovine teeth mounted on a bovine rib as a jaw substitute. The phantom was scanned in two dental CBCTs, two EID-CTs and a PCD-CT using standard clinical protocols.

Monkeypox virus (MPXV), a zoonotic pathogen, re-emerged in 2022 with the Clade IIb variant, raising global health concerns due to its unprecedented spread in non-endemic regions. Recent studies have shown that Clade IIb (2022 MPXV) is marked by unique genomic mutations and epidemiological behaviors, suggesting variations in host-virus interactions. This study aimed to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) induced by the 2022 MPXV infection through comprehensive bioinformatics analyses of microarray and RNA-Seq datasets from post-infected cell types with different MPXV clades.
