Recent numerical studies indicate that the antiferromagnetic Kitaev honeycomb lattice model undergoes a magnetic-field-induced quantum phase transition into a new spin-liquid phase. This intermediate-field phase has been previously characterized as a gapless spin liquid. By implementing a recently developed variational approach based on the exact fractionalized excitations of the zero-field model, we demonstrate that the field-induced spin liquid is gapped and belongs to Kitaev's 16-fold way. Specifically, the low-field non-Abelian liquid with Chern number C = ±1 transitions into an Abelian liquid with C = ±4. The critical field and the field-dependent behaviors of key physical quantities are in good quantitative agreement with published numerical results. Furthermore, we derive an effective field theory for the field-induced critical point which readily explains the ostensibly gapless nature of the intermediate-field spin liquid.

The two-dimensional (2D) refocused INADEQUATE NMR experiment, which correlates double-quantum (DQ) and single-quantum (SQ) coherences, is widely used to probe the chemical connectivities in solids. Nevertheless, the multiplets along the F dimension reduce the resolution and sensitivity of this experiment. The Composite-Refocusing (CR) technique with two excitation pulses has been proposed to suppress these multiplets in 2D INADEQUATE spectra of liquids.

Research on hydroxyapatite (HAP) coatings for bone tissue applications has been investigated for decades due to their significant osteoconductive and bioactivity properties. HAP closely resembles the mineral component of human bone, making it ideal for biomedical applications such as implants. This study investigates the synthesis of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles (HAP-NPs) via the microemulsion method, which is essential for creating HAP coatings on the Ti-6Al-4V substrate.

With a view towards the development of molecular spintronics, non-linear optics, and qubits, a great amount of research effort aims to establish the factors which govern the spin classification of diradicals. Electron spin resonance (ESR) is an indispensable tool for such research. However, in some cases, the mere presence of an ESR spectrum is insufficient to ascertain that the presumed diradical is indeed a triplet state.

Designer heterostructures have offered a very powerful strategy to create exotic superconducting states by combining magnetism and superconductivity. In this Letter, we use a heterostructure platform combining supramolecular metal complexes (SMCs) with a quasi-2D van der Waals superconductor NbSe_{2}. Our scanning tunneling microscopy measurements demonstrate the emergence of Yu-Shiba-Rusinov bands arising from the interaction between the SMC magnetism and the NbSe_{2} superconductivity.

The nonintegrable higher spin Kitaev honeycomb model has an exact Z_{2} gauge structure, which exclusively identifies quantum spin liquid in the half-integer spin Kitaev model. But its constraints for the integer-spin Kitaev model are much limited, and even trivially gapped insulators cannot be excluded. The physical implications of exact Z_{2} gauge structure, especially Z_{2} fluxes, in integer-spin models remain largely unexplored.
