Medulloblastoma is the primary malignant tumor of the Central Nervous System (CNS) most common in pediatrics. We present here, the histological, molecular, and functional analysis of a cohort of 88 pediatric medulloblastoma tumor samples. The WNT-activated subgroup comprised 10% of our cohort, and all WNT-activated patients had exon 3 mutations and were immunostained for nuclear β-catenin. One novel heterozygous mutation was found, which resulted in the deletion of β-catenin Ser37 residue (ΔS37). The ΔS37 β-catenin variant ectopically expressed in U2OS human osteosarcoma cells displayed higher protein expression levels than wild-type β-catenin, and functional analysis disclosed gain-of-function properties in terms of elevated TCF/LEF transcriptional activity in cells. Our results suggest that the stabilization and nuclear accumulation of ΔS37 β-catenin contributed to early medulloblastoma tumorigenesis.

Background: Enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) systems utilize phosphorus-accumulating organisms (PAOs) to remove phosphorus from wastewater since excessive phosphorus in water bodies can lead to eutrophication. This study aimed to characterize a newly isolated PAO strain for its potential application in EBPR systems and to screen for additional biotechnological potential. Here, sequencing allowed for genomic analysis, identifying the genes and molecules involved, and exploring other potentials.

Background: Regulatory T-cells (Tregs) play a crucial role in maintaining immune homeostasis, but their dynamics are altered in a subset of people living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) known as immunological non-responders (INRs). INRs fail to reconstitute CD4 T-cell counts despite viral suppression. This study aimed to examine Treg dysregulation in INRs, comparing them to immunological responders (IRs) and healthy controls (HCs).

Background: Aneuploidy is crucial yet under-explored in cancer pathogenesis. Specifically, the involvement of brain expressed X-linked gene 4 () in microtubule formation has been identified as a potential aneuploidy mechanism. Nevertheless, 's comprehensive impact on aneuploidy incidence across different cancer types remains unexplored.

Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a common metabolism-related multisystem clinical disorder, often accompanied by a high comorbidity of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Increasing evidence suggests that the amygdala is crucial in cognitive processing during metabolic dysfunction. Nevertheless, the role of the amygdala in the neural mechanisms of MASLD with MCI (MCI_MASLD) remains unclear.

Background: Recently, there has been a surge in virtual reality (VR)-based training for upper limb (UL) rehabilitation, which has yielded mixed results. Therefore, we aimed to explore the effects of conventional therapy combined with VR-based training on UL dysfunction during post-stroke rehabilitation.
