We report a case of intraperitoneal bladder rupture in a 24-year-old man who was struck by a motorcycle. Initial contrast-enhanced CT scan shortly after presentation to our emergency department demonstrated simple free fluid within the upper abdomen and pelvis. Delayed CT scan of the pelvis showed contrast extravasation into the perineal cavity. CT cystography showed rupture of the bladder dome with active contrast extravasation. This case illustrates that intraperitoneal bladder rupture should be considered as an etiology for otherwise unexplained ascites after blunt abdominal trauma. Delayed CT and CT cystography should be considered for further evaluation.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is typically classified as prerenal, renal, or postrenal in etiology, with postrenal often referring to obstructive causes. The occurrence of spontaneous bladder rupture during labor or the postpartum period after an uncomplicated vaginal delivery is exceedingly uncommon. However, we encountered a case involving spontaneous bladder rupture, which resulted in the development of localized fluid collections in the abdomen after an uncomplicated vaginal delivery. In this instance, the absence of typical peritonitis symptoms, such as abdominal pain or tenderness, and the lack of typical urological symptoms, including haematuria, dysuria, and anuria, coupled with the absence of clinical manifestations of puerperal sepsis, the absence of microbial presence in the ascitic fluid, and the patient's symptomatic amelioration following antibiotic therapy, contributed to a delay in identifying the bladder rupture.

Resistance to cisplatin-based chemotherapy limits the clinical benefit to some bladder cancer patients, and understanding the epigenetic regulation mechanism of cisplatin (CDDP) resistance in bladder cancer from the perspective of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification may optimize CDDP-based treatments. The study identified SRD5A3 as an oncogene for bladder cancer and stabilized by a m6A reader, IGF2BP3, to sustain CDDP resistance. Our results revealed that the expression of SRD5A3 was elevated in human bladder cancer tissues and cell lines, and this elevation was more evident in CDDP-resistant T24 and 5637 cells.
