Aggressive B-cell lymphomas are a biologically and clinically very heterogeneous group of tumors that may be related to different stages of B-cell differentiation development. This review aims to summarize recent advances in the understanding of these tumors with a focus on the practical approach to the diagnosis of these entities. We analyze the defining characteristics of the different subtypes of aggressive B-cell lymphomas, including nodal and extranodal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, virus-associated lymphomas, terminally differentiated B-cell lymphomas, high-grade B-cell lymphomas, and Burkitt lymphoma.

Classification of cases of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL)/high-grade B-cell lymphoma (HGBL) with MYC and BCL6 rearrangements, also known as BCL6 double hit lymphoma (DHL), is controversial. We assessed 60 cases of BCL6-DHL and compared this cohort to 224 cases of DHL with MYC and BCL2 rearrangements (BCL2-DHL) and 217 cases of DLBCL not otherwise specified. Compared with the DLBCL cohort, BCL6-DHL patients had more aggressive clinical features such as frequent extranodal involvement, high-stage disease, high IPI score and elevated serum lactate dehydrogenase level (p <0.

ALK-positive large B-cell lymphoma (ALK+ LBCL) is a rare neoplasm with an aggressive course and poor therapeutic response to the standard R-CHOP regimen. Owing to its negativity for usual B- and T-cell markers and immunopositivity for epithelial markers, it can be easily misdiagnosed if it is not contemplated. To study the clinicopathological parameters of cases of ALK+ LBCL diagnosed at our institution.

Background: The most frequent type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Although lymph nodes are the most commonly affected organs compromising 70% of DLBCLs, only 5% of extranodal lymphomas represent skeletal muscle involvement. Specifically, abdominal wall muscle involvement is rare and there are only a few reported cases of DLBCL with this type of muscle involvement.

Background and objective Lymphomas can involve the gastrointestinal (GI) tract as a primary disease or as a secondary spread of systemic disease. The GI tract is a key site for extranodal lymphomas, with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) occurring in this region. This study aimed to analyze the demography, anatomic distribution, histological subtypes, and immunomorphological characteristics of all lymphomas with a primary GI presentation at a quaternary care hospital in southern India.
