The polyphasic taxonomic study of a novel endophytic actinobacterium strain (CA2R105) was carried out. The strain formed fragmented substrate mycelium and showed chemotaxonomic properties typical of members of the genus i.e. the presence of mycolic acid and MK-8 (H) in its cells. Strain CA2R105 exhibited the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to NBRC 101359 (99.2%). The genome-based taxonomic analysis revealed low average nucleotide identity-blast and digital DNA-DNA hybridization values (<93.7, and <65.2%, respectively) to its closest relative. Moreover, many different phenotypic characteristics were observed between strain CA2R105 and all related -type strains. This taxonomic evidence suggested that strain CA2R105 should be judged as representing a novel species of the genus and the name, sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is CA2R105 (=TBRC 11247=NBRC 114292).

Genome mining has emerged as a revolutionary tool for discovering new ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides (RiPPs) in various genomes. Recently, these approaches have been used to detect and explore unique environments as sources of RiPP-producing microorganisms, particularly focusing on endophytic microorganisms found in medicinal plants. Some endophytic actinobacteria, especially strains of , are notable examples of peptide producers, as specific biosynthetic clusters encode them.

A novel actinobacterium strain, HUAS 14-6, was isolated from the healthy leaves of Camellia oleifera collected from Changde City, Hunan Province, China. Strain HUAS 14-6 produced tight spiral spore chains consisting of oval or spherical spores with a smooth surface. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis revealed that strain HUAS 14-6 belonged to the genus Streptomyces and shared highest similarity to Streptomyces bungoensis DSM 41781 (99.

Grape berry skin coloration is a key determinant of the commercial value of red wines. Global warming caused by climate change has inhibited anthocyanin biosynthesis in berry skins, leading to poor coloration. Through two-year field experiments, the endophyte che218 isolated from grape shoot xylem promoted anthocyanin accumulation in berry skins.

In recent years, there has been an increasing focus on microbial ecology and its possible impact on agricultural production, owing to its eco-friendly nature and sustainable use. The current study employs metabolomics technologies and bioinformatics approaches to identify changes in the exometabolome of B24. This research aims to shed light on the mechanisms and metabolites responsible for the antifungal and growth promotion strategies, with potential applications in sustainable agriculture.

Two endophytic actinobacteria, strains MK5 and MK7, were isolated from the surface-sterilized root of Jasmine rice (Oryza sativa KDML 105). These strains were aerobic actinobacteria with a well-developed substrate and aerial mycelia that formed spiral spore chains. The type strains that shared the high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with both strains were Streptomyces naganishii NBRC 12892 (99.
