To describe the feasibility of a new one-step approach to aspirate the aqueous and apply melphalan in a single-go without repeated entries into the anterior chamber. This retrospective non-comparative study was conducted at a referral center and included 12 patients. The one-step approach is described in a step-wise manner. No complications were observed among the patients. One single injection of intracameral melphalan proved to be a successful treatment in nine cases. Two patients required a second injection, which was administered two weeks after the first one following the same technique. This proved to be a reasonable technique for the smooth application of melphalan in the anterior chamber studded with retinoblastoma seeds. Our outcomes revealed that it is an effective, quick, and cost-effective technique. Longer-term data collection is underway, though initial findings are encouraging.

20% acute pancreatitis (AP) develops into severe AP (SAP), a global health crisis, with an increased mortality rate to 30%-50%. Mitochondrial damage and immune disorders are direct factors, which exacerbate the occurrence and progression of AP. So far, mitochondrial and immunity injury in SAP remains largely elusive, with no established treatment options available.

A recent study design for clinical trials with small sample sizes is the small n, sequential, multiple assignment, randomized trial (snSMART). An snSMART design has been previously proposed to compare the efficacy of two dose levels versus placebo. In such a trial, participants are initially randomized to receive either low dose, high dose or placebo in stage 1.

Herein, a novel approach to the controlled formation of chitosan-Ag nanocomposites (NCs) with different structures and tunable chemical/biological properties was proposed. The chitosan-Ag NCs were obtained using hydrothermal synthesis and varying the concentrations of components. The hypothesis of chitosan-Ag NC synthesis using polysaccharide coils as a "microreactor" system was confirmed.

The human visual nervous system excels at recognizing and processing external stimuli, essential for various physiological functions. Biomimetic visual systems leverage biological synapse properties to improve memory encoding and perception. Optoelectronic devices mimicking these synapses can enhance wearable electronics, with layered heterojunction materials being ideal materials for optoelectronic synapses due to their tunable properties and biocompatibility.

Introduction: The gold standard for treating the placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is a cesarean hysterectomy, which harms fertility. Another conservative surgical approach allows the uterus to be preserved: one-step conservative surgery. We will compare these two approaches through the "CMNT PAS" study.
