Published: December 2021

We present a genome assembly from an individual female (the European nightjar; Chordata; Aves; Caprimulgiformes; Caprimulgidae). The genome sequence is 1,178 megabases in span. The majority of the assembly (99.33%) is scaffolded into 37 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes.
