. Synchronyis a motion management system on the Radixactthat uses planar kV radiographs to locate the target during treatment. The purpose of this work is to quantify the visibility of fiducials on these radiographs.. A custom acrylic slab was machined to hold 8 gold fiducials of various lengths, diameters, and orientations with respect to the imaging axis. The slab was placed on the couch at the imaging isocenter and planar radiographs were acquired perpendicular to the custom slab with varying thicknesses of acrylic on each side. Fiducial signal to noise ratio (SNR) and detected fiducial position error in millimeters were quantified.. The minimum output protocol (100 kVp, 0.8 mAs) was sufficient to detect all fiducials on both Radixact configurations when the thickness of the phantom was 20 cm. However, no fiducials for any protocol were detected when the phantom was 50 cm thick. The algorithm accurately detected fiducials on the image when the SNR was larger than 4. The MV beam was observed to cause RFI artifacts on the kV images and to decrease SNR by an average of 10%.. This work provides the first data on fiducial visibility on kV radiographs from Radixact Synchrony treatments. The Synchrony fiducial detection algorithm was determined to be very accurate when sufficient SNR is achieved. However, a higher output protocol may need to be added for use with larger patients. This work provided groundwork for investigating visibility of fiducial-free solid targets in future studies and provided a direct comparison of fiducial visibility on the two Radixact configurations, which will allow for intercomparison of results between configurations.

Introduction: Recognizing human actions is crucial for allowing machines to understand and recognize human behavior, with applications spanning video based surveillance systems, human-robot collaboration, sports analysis systems, and entertainment. The immense diversity in human movement and appearance poses a significant challenge in this field, especially when dealing with drone-recorded (RGB) videos. Factors such as dynamic backgrounds, motion blur, occlusions, varying video capture angles, and exposure issues greatly complicate recognition tasks.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study focuses on improving the tracking of small lung tumors during pulmonary stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) to enhance radiation delivery and reduce damage to healthy tissue.
  • - A new deep learning framework called SAFE Track is developed for tracking small, difficult-to-see tumors without the need for invasive fiducial markers, incorporating a two-stage detection process for increased accuracy.
  • - The methodology was tested on 94 patients, with results indicating that SAFE Track effectively locates low-visibility tumors, and comparisons were made with existing tracking technologies.

Article Synopsis
  • A multicenter study assessed the feasibility and safety of EUS-guided fiducial marker placement in patients with esophageal or rectal cancer referred for radiation therapy, focusing on success rates and outcomes.
  • The study involved 33 patients, achieving a 93.9% success rate in marker placement, with an average procedure time of 12.5 minutes and no reported adverse events.
  • Results showed that all fiducial markers remained visible throughout radiation therapy, emphasizing the approach's safety and effectiveness for these cancer types.

Estimating the pose of a large set of fixed indoor cameras is a requirement for certain applications in augmented reality, autonomous navigation, video surveillance, and logistics. However, accurately mapping the positions of these cameras remains an unsolved problem. While providing partial solutions, existing alternatives are limited by their dependence on distinct environmental features, the requirement for large overlapping camera views, and specific conditions.

Introduction: Precise patient positioning with image guidance (IGRT) is essential for safe prostate radiotherapy. We present the first report of utilizing a CT-visible hydrogel spacer, used to decrease rectal radiation dose, as a surrogate fiducial marker to aid in daily IGRT with cone-beam CT (CBCT) in stereotactic radiotherapy (SABR) for prostate cancer.

Materials And Methods: Prior to CT simulation, patients underwent placement of three intraprostatic gold fiducial markers and radiopaque hydrogel spacer per standard practice.
