Guided by attachment theory, we explored in the present study the links between parental emotion-coaching, attachment to parents, and adolescent's sense of agency. Further, we examined a possible mediating role of adolescent's attachment to parents in the association between parental emotion-coaching and sense of agency. All models control for cumulative psychosocial risk, and adolescents' sex and age, and take into account the reports of both mothers and fathers. The sample included 501 Portuguese families comprising adolescents, their mothers, and their fathers. Adolescents (ages ranged from 15 to 18) reported on their attachment to parents, personal agency, and cumulative psychosocial risk, whereas mothers and fathers independently completed a questionnaire assessing their meta-emotion skills. The results indicate that both mothers' and fathers' emotional-coaching are positively associated with the quality of adolescent's attachment to parents. Nonetheless, parental emotion-coaching are not directly associate with sense of agency. The quality of emotional bond with father is linked to a more positive sense of agency, while relationships characterized by mother's inhibition of adolescent's exploration are associated with less positive perceptions of agency. Parental emotion-coaching seems to be associated with the sense of personal agency through the quality of attachment to parents. These results are discussed according to attachment theory taking into account the parents' importance to adolescents' development. Our findings provide a first attempt to unravel the possible links between parental emotion-coaching, attachment to parents, and sense of agency; nevertheless, they need to expand. Because of high mutation rates, viruses constantly adapt to new environments. When propagated in cell lines, certain viruses acquire positively charged amino acids on their surface proteins, enabling them to utilize negatively charged heparan sulfate (HS) as an attachment receptor. In this study, we used enterovirus A71 (EV-A71) as model and demonstrated that unlike the parental MP4 variant, the cell-adapted strong HS-binder MP4-97R/167G does not require acidification for uncoating and releases its genome in the neutral or weakly acidic environment of early endosomes.

The crystal structure of a glycosyl-ated porphyrin () system, CHNO, where two iso-propyl-idene protected galactose moieties are attached to the position of a substituted tetra-aryl porphyrin is reported. This structure reveals that the parent porphyrin is planar, with the galactose moieties positioned above and below the porphyrin macrocycle. This orientation likely prevents porphyrin-porphyrin H-type aggregation, potentially enhancing its efficiency as a photosensitizer in photodynamic therapy.

Objective: The objective of this scoping review was to assess the extent of the literature on how relational components in pediatric care contribute to the transition process and transfer outcomes.
Background: Relationships between patients, parents and pediatric providers are a frequently cited barrier in transition to adult care. A scoping review aimed to identify studies focused on how the relationship between patients/parents and pediatric providers related to transition from pediatric to adult healthcare and explore the nature and depth of the evidence.

Background: Protecting individual anonymity is a common practice in harm reduction (HR), as it can mitigate the fears that may prevent people from accessing services. Protecting anonymity usually means applying for services with a pseudonym. However, anonymity protection practices have diversified in current HR environments, for example, on the streets or in the Tor network, which relies on technology to guarantee exceptionally strong anonymity.

Although methods for Cys-specific bioconjugation and functionalization of proteins have been developed and widely utilized in biomolecule engineering and therapeutic development, reagents for this purpose are generally designed to accomplish bioconjugation only. Consequently, additional clickable groups must be attached to these reagents to accomplish functionalization. Herein, we describe a new, simple, dual-performing bioconjugation-functionalization reagent, VMeTz, which possesses an electron-withdrawing tetrazine (Tz) substituted vinyl (V) moiety to serve as both a Michael receptor for selective conjugation with Cys and a site for click with TCO derivatives to introduce functionality.
