COP1/SPA1 complex in inhibits photomorphogenesis through the ubiquitination of multiple photo-responsive transcription factors in darkness, but such inhibiting function of COP1/SPA1 complex would be suppressed by cryptochromes in blue light. Extensive studies have been conducted on these mechanisms in whereas little attention has been focused on whether another branch of land plants bryophyte utilizes this blue-light regulatory pathway. To study this problem, we conducted a study in the liverwort and obtained a MpSPA knock-out mutant, in which Mp exhibits the phenotype of an increased percentage of individuals with asymmetrical thallus growth, similar to MpCRY knock-out mutant. We also verified interactions of MpSPA with MpCRY (in a blue light-independent way) and with MpCOP1. Concomitantly, both MpSPA and MpCOP1 could interact with MpHY5, and MpSPA can promote MpCOP1 to ubiquitinate MpHY5 but MpCRY does not regulate the ubiquitination of MpHY5 by MpCOP1/MpSPA complex. These data suggest that COP1/SPA ubiquitinating HY5 is conserved in , but dissimilar to CRY in , MpCRY is not an inhibitor of this process under blue light.

Constructing multifunctional phosphors grounded in the intricate relationship between energy level structures and luminescent properties has captivated researchers in the luminescent material field. Herein, using the embedded cluster multiconfigurational ab initio method, the energy levels of Bi in the SrLaGaO host at different geometries were calculated, which results in the establishment of complete configurational coordinate curves, yielding breathing mode vibrational frequencies and equilibrium bond lengths for all excited states. These curves supply deep insight into the luminescence properties of Bi-doped phosphors and highlight the impact of ions in the second coordination sphere on luminescence.

Dentin hypersensitivity is primarily caused by the exposure of dentinal tubules due to various factors, so the key to treatment is to effectively seal these exposed tubules. However, traditional dentinal tubule sealants used in clinical practice often fail to adhere securely to the tubule surface when exposed to external stimuli, resulting in a recurrence of sensitivity. In this study, we developed a silicon micromotor that moved autonomously and loaded with silver nanoparticles and a photosensitive adhesive for dentin sensitivity therapy.

A simple, rapid, and reproducible high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method has been developed and validated for the determination of β-sitosterol in the pharmaceutical dosage form of moist exposed burn ointment (MEBO). This method involved an effective sample procedure for extraction of β-sitosterol from MEBO using an alkali saponification agent composed of 0.8 N ethanolic NaOH and diethyl ether.

Colour is an integral part of natural and constructed environments. For many, it also has an aesthetic appeal, with some colours being more pleasant than others. Moreover, humans seem to systematically and reliably associate colours with emotions, such as yellow with joy, black with sadness, light colours with positive and dark colours with negative emotions.
