In this study, we systematically evaluate different ambiphilic organohalides for their ability to participate in anti-selective carbo- or heteroannulation with non-conjugated alkenyl amides under Pd /Pd catalysis. Detailed optimization of the reaction conditions has led to protocols for synthesizing tetrahydropyridines, tetralins, pyrrolidines, and other carbo/heterocyclic cores via [n+2] (n=3-5) (hetero)annulation. Expansion of scope to otherwise unreactive ambiphilic haloketones through Pd /amine co-catalysis is also demonstrated. Compared to other annulation processes, this method proceeds via a distinct Pd /Pd mechanism involving Wacker-type directed nucleopalladation. This difference results in unique reactivity and selectivity patterns, as revealed through assessment of reaction scope and competition experiments.

In this study, we investigate the electrodeposition of various metals on silicon. Mn, Co, Ni, Ru, Pd, Rh, and Pt were identified as promising candidates for controlled electrodeposition onto silicon. Electrochemical evaluations employing cyclic voltammetry, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) associated with energy-dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), and X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) techniques confirmed the deposition of Pd, Rh, and Pt as nanoparticles.

Metal nanoclusters (NCs) with dimensions of approximately 3 nm serve as a crucial link between metal-organic complexes and metal nanoparticles, garnering significant interest due to their distinctive molecule-like characteristics. These include well-defined molecular structures, clear HOMO-LUMO transitions, quantized charge, and robust luminescence emission. Atomically precise alloy NCs, in contrast to homometallic NCs, exhibit a wealth of structures and intriguing properties, with their novel attributes often intricately tied to the positions of alloyed elements within the structure, facilitating the exploration of structure-property relationships.

Essential oils (EOs) are natural, volatile substances derived from aromatic plants. They exhibit multiple pharmacological effects, including antibacterial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, with broad application prospects in health care, food, and agriculture. However, the instability of volatile components, which are susceptible to deterioration under light, heat, and oxygen exposure, as well as limited water solubility, have significantly impeded the development and application of EOs.

Heteroatom-doped carbon materials are widely used to improve the electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol; however, the underlying mechanisms driving this enhancement remain poorly understood. A major challenge lies in developing non-doped carbon supports with tunable intrinsic defect types tailored for metal-based catalysts. In this study, we synthesize a series of ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) supports with adjustable edge defect densities by varying roasting temperatures and employing a zinc (Zn) evaporation strategy to systematically investigate the impact of edge defects on methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) performance.

The complex pathology of Parkinson's disease (PD) requires comprehensive understanding and multi-pronged interventions for communication between nerve cells. Despite new developments in nanotechnology in the treatment of PD, in-depth exploration of their biological effects, in particular, the specific mechanisms of inflammation inhibition are lacking. Herein, using the stable cascade catalysis channel formed by polydopamine (PDA), imidazole groups, and Cu ions, a microgel system comprising functional monomers [superoxide dismutase (SOD) with double bonds, PDA, 2-methacryloyloxy ethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC), and Cu ions] is proposed for managing PD.
