The development of biological agents against tumor necrosis factor (TNF) has revolutionized the management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), frequently achieving induction and maintenance of remission in both ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. However, a loss of response due to the development of anti-drug antibodies (ADA) is seen annually in approximately 20% of IBD patients receiving anti-TNF therapy. Current evidence suggests that the use of immunomodulators (IMM), such as thiopurines (azathioprine and 6-mercaptopurine) or methotrexate, may prevent or suppress ADA formation. In this article, we present a comprehensive review of the available literature regarding the efficacy of IMM in the prevention and suppression of ADA development to anti-TNF therapy in patients with IBD.

Background: Small nutritional preloads can reduce postprandial glucose excursions in individuals with and without metabolic syndrome or T2D. However, most studies have focused on preloads administered before single meals and have predominantly used protein-based preloads.
Objective: To investigate the effects of sequential consumption of medium chain triglycerides (MCT) and whey protein isolate (WPI) preloads before breakfast lunch and dinner on postprandial, diurnal and 24h glycaemia in individuals with T2D.

Background: Muscle atrophy after the rupture of a rotator cuff (RC) tendon is a major factor that increases the risk of secondary complications and re-rupture. Metformin, a type 2 diabetes treatment, can be used to modulate intracellular signaling pathways that promote muscle growth. This study aimed to verify whether systemic metformin administration could prevent supraspinatus (SS) atrophy after RC rupture in a rat model.

CyHV-2 is the pathogen of herpesvirus haematopoietic necrosis (HVHN), resulting in significant economic losses in crucian carp. Although multiple oral vaccines have been developed to prevent CyHV-2, they have not achieved ideal protective effects. To improve the protective effect of oral vaccine, a combination vaccine was conducted by mixing recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae displaying ORF132 or ORF25 on the cell surface in a 1:1 ratio.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a highly heterogeneous and aggressive brain tumor, which presents significant challenges for treatment in clinical settings. Phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitors can prevent the degradation of cAMP and have been used as a potential targeted therapeutic approach for different cancer types. However, its clinical use is restricted by the side effects such as nausea and vomiting.

Anxiety is among the most prevalent mental health issues in children. While it is well established that gonadal steroids influence anxiety-like behavior in adulthood, a potential role in prepubertal juveniles has been overlooked because it is commonly thought that the gonads are quiescent during the juvenile period. However, the juvenile gonads secrete measurable amounts of steroids, and we have recently found that prepubertal ovariectomy decreases anxiety-like behavior of juvenile Siberian hamsters in the light/dark box test.
