endocarditis is often an elusive diagnosis, usually derived from evaluating multiple laboratory tests and assessment of presenting symptoms. Herein we describe a case of native mitral valve endocarditis with an initial presentation of volume overload and renal failure. The organism is tedious to isolate from culture medium, causing most diagnoses to be delayed. Due to the destructive nature of endocarditis, the need for rapid identification remains prudent. This therefore creates an opportunity for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to be used. We further summarize the varied presentations that may be associated with endocarditis, and hope that this will heighten the clinicians' awareness of this entity when presented with acute onset renal failure and culture negative vegetations.

Introduction: A common complication of arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is thrombosis in the venous segment, which can impair vascular access unless a successful thrombectomy is performed.
Case Presentation: In this manuscript, we describe the case of a diabetic patient who had primary AVF in a snuff-box with subsequent superficialization of the medial vein of the forearm. Unfortunately, this section of the vein was occluded, although the fistula was patent through the cephalic vein (CV).

Objective: To determine the prevalence of amoebiasis, which has been neglected in recent years according to the World Health Organization, in ulcerative colitis patients and investigate the relationship between amoebiasis and ulcerative colitis.
Methods: The study included 150 individuals, including 100 ulcerative colitis patients and 50 healthy individuals without gastrointestinal complaints. The samples collected were first analyzed macroscopically and then using native-Lugol, trichrome staining, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

BCR::ABL1-like B-lymphoblastic leukaemia (B-ALL) neoplasms lack the BCR::ABL1 translocation but have a gene expression profile like BCR::ABL1 positive B-ALL. This includes alterations in cytokine receptors and signalling genes, such as and Cases with CRLF2 rearrangements account for approximately 50% of cases of Philadelphia-like acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (Ph-like ALL), and the frequency of specific genomic lesions varies with ethnicity such that IGH::CRLF2 translocations are more common in Hispanics and Native Americans. We report two cases of BCR::ABL1-like ALL, with significant eosinophilia.

Lipidated analogues of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) have gained enormous attention as long-acting peptide therapeutics for type 2 diabetes and also antiobesity treatment. Commercially available therapeutic lipidated GLP-1 analogues, semaglutide and liraglutide, have the great advantage of prolonged half-lives of hours and days instead of minutes as is the case for native GLP-1. A crucial factor in the development of novel lipidated therapeutic peptides is their physical stability, which greatly influences manufacturing and drug product development.

Tylosema esculentum (marama bean), an underutilized orphan legume native to southern Africa, holds significant potential for domestication as a rescue crop to enhance local food security. Well-adapted to harsh desert environments, it offers valuable insights into plant resilience to extreme drought and high temperatures. In this study, k-mer analysis indicated marama as an ancient allotetraploid legume.
