Published: February 2022

Subsequently to the publication of the above article, an interested reader drew to the authors' attention that Fig. 3 (showing how RACK1 silencing alters the protein expression levels of tumor malignant progress markers in OSCC ) contained an overlapping data panel, such that the data were derived from the same original source where they were intending to depict the results from experiments performed under different experimental conditions and Fig. 4 (showing how RACK1 expression is positively correlated with p‑AKT in OSCC tissues and cells) contained a clearly duplicated pair of data panels. The authors were able to re‑examine their original data, and have identified the data that were intended to have been shown for these figure parts. The corrected versions of Figs. 3 and 4 are shown on the next two pages, featuring the correct data for the E‑cadherin experiments in Fig. 3B and the correct enlargement panel for the RACK1 / Moderate dysplasia experiment in Fig. 4A. The authors confirm that these inadvertent errors did not have any major impact on the conclusions reported in their paper, are grateful to the Editor of for allowing them this opportunity to publish a Corrigendum, and apologize to the readership for any inconvenience caused. Receptors for Activated C Kinase 1 (RACK1s) are a kind of multifunction scaffold protein that plays an important role in cell signal transductions and animal development. However, the function of RACK1 in the Chinese honeybee Apis cerana cerana is little known. Here, we isolated and identified a RACK1 gene from Apis cerana cerana, named AccRACK1.

The composition and turnover of the Arabidopsis thaliana 80S cytosolic ribosome.

Biochem J

August 2020

ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology, School of Molecular Science, The University of Western Australia, 6009 Crawley, WA, Australia.

Cytosolic 80S ribosomes contain proteins of the mature cytosolic ribosome (r-proteins) as well as proteins with roles in ribosome biogenesis, protein folding or modification. Here, we refined the core r-protein composition in Arabidopsis thaliana by determining the abundance of different proteins during enrichment of ribosomes from cell cultures using peptide mass spectrometry. The turnover rates of 26 40S subunit r-proteins and 29 60S subunit r-proteins were also determined, showing that half of the ribosome population is replaced every 3-4 days.

Emerging links between endosomal pH and cancer.

Cancer Metastasis Rev

June 2020

Department of Physiology, The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, 725 N. Wolfe St, Baltimore, MD, 21205, USA.

Extracellular acidification is a well-known driver of tumorigenesis that has been extensively studied. In contrast, the role of endosomal pH is novel and relatively unexplored. There is emerging evidence from a growing number of studies showing that the pH of endosomal compartments controls proliferation, migration, stemness, and sensitivity to chemoradiation therapy in a variety of tumors.

Instituto de Ciencias del Mar y Limnología, Unidad Académica de Sistemas Arrecifales, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, U. N. A. M., Prolongación Avenida Niños Héroes S/N, Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, 77580, México.

Two genes of the RACK1 homolog from the photosynthetic dinoflagellate Symbiodinium microadriaticum ssp. microadriaticum (SmicRACK1), termed SmicRACK1A and SmicRACK1B, were found tandemly arrayed and displayed a single synonymous substitution (T/C) encoding threonine. They included two exons of 942 bp each, encoding 313 amino acids with seven WD-40 repeats and two PKC-binding motifs.
