Osteoporosis is well noted to be a universal ailment that realization impaired bone mass and micro architectural deterioration thus enhancing the probability of fracture. Despite its high incidence, its management remains highly demanding because of the multifactorial pathophysiology of the disease. This review highlights recent findings in the management of osteoporosis particularly, gene expression and hormonal control.

In the present study 1,709 cattle, including 1,118 Drakensberger (DRB), 377 Nguni (NGI), and 214 Tuli (TUL), were genotyped using the GeneSeek® Genomic Profiler™ 150 K bovine SNP panel. A genomic data set of 122,632 quality-filtered single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were used to identify selection signatures within breeds based on conserved runs of homozygosity (ROH) and heterozygosity (ROHet) estimated with the detectRUNS R package. The mean number of ROH per animal varied across breeds ranging from 36.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) represents one of the most common subtypes of lung cancer with high rates of incidence and mortality, which contributes to substantial health and economic demand across the globe. Treatment today mainly consists of surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, but their efficacy in advanced stages is often suboptimal and emphasizes the clear need for new biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Using comprehensive bioinformatics analyses consisting of the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), Human Protein Atlas (HPA) and Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC), immune infiltration analysis and functional enrichment analysis, and single-cell analysis, we examined the potential of keratin 18 (KRT18) as a candidate biomarker in advanced LUAD.

Orf (ORF) is an acute disease caused by the Orf virus (ORFV), and poses a certain threat to animal and human health. Live attenuated vaccines play an important role in the prevention and control of ORF. The effectiveness of the live attenuated Orf virus vaccine is influenced by several factors, including the genomic match between the vaccine strain and circulating epidemic strains.

Purpose: This review explores the role of pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF) in retinal degenerative and vascular disorders and assesses its potential both as an adjunct to established vascular endothelial growth factor inhibiting treatments for retinal vascular diseases and as a neuroprotective therapeutic agent.
Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted, focusing on the neuroprotective and anti-angiogenic properties of PEDF. The review evaluated its effects on retinal health, its dysregulation in ocular disorders, and its therapeutic application in preclinical models.
