We here report on the synthesis and polymerization of nitrile-containing methacrylate monomers, prepared via straightforward nitrilation of the corresponding lignin-inspired aldehyde. The polymethacrylates reached exceptionally high glass transition temperatures ( values), i.e., 150, 164, and 238 °C for the 4-hydroxybenzonitrile, vanillonitrile, and syringonitrile derivatives, respectively, and were thermally stable up to above 300 °C. Copolymerizations of the nitrile monomers with styrene and methyl methacrylate, respectively, gave potentially melt processable materials with tunable values and enhanced solvent resistance. The use of lignin-derived nitrile-containing monomers represents an efficient strategy toward well-defined biobased high polymer materials.

Background: Multifunctional fluorescent probes have attracted much attention due to their wide range of applications and high utilization. In this study, a multifunctional fluorescent probe (E)-3-(4-(7-(4-(diphenylamino)phenyl)benzo[c] [1,2,5]thiadiazol-4-yl)phenyl)acrylic acid (TBAC) based on triphenylamine was designed and synthesized.

Results: The TBAC probe provided excellent aggregation-induced emission (AIE) performance and could be used as a fluorescent ink for printing.

Lead halide perovskite heterojunctions have been considered as important building blocks for fabricating high-performance photodetectors (PDs). However, the interfacial defects induced non-radiative recombination and interfacial energy-level misalignment induced ineffective carrier transport severely limit the performance of photodetection of resulting devices. Herein, interfacial engineering with a spin-coating procedure has been studied to improve the photodetection performance of CHNHPbI/SnO heterojunction PDs, which were fabricated by sputtering a SnO thin film on ITO glass followed by spin-coating a CHNHPbI thin film.

Lead halide perovskite nanocrystal materials such as CsPbX (X = Cl, Br, and I) have triggered an intense research upsurge due to their excellent scintillation performance. Herein, an crystallization strategy is developed to grow CsPbBr nanocrystals (NCs) within a low-melting-point (280 °C) coordination polymer (CP) glass. The viscosity of coordination glass is reduced through a low-temperature (e.

Background: Uncorrected refractive error is reported to be the most common cause globally of vision impairment in school age children. However, little is known about the extent of uncorrected refractive error in Israel. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of vision impairment in schoolchildren recruited for the Israel Refraction, Environment, And Devices (iREAD) Study.

Utilizing aerosol jet printing (AJP), this study achieves a breakthrough in fabricating luminescent fibers with superior optical performance and flexibility. The YO:Eu coated high silica glass fibers demonstrate luminous efficiency twice that of traditional methods, retaining 80% after 250 bending cycles and 90% after sweat immersion. This AJP technique not only elevates the potential of smart fabrics but also represents a significant innovation in lighting technology, providing new ideas for advanced functional fiber fabrication.
