Herein, a facile self-assembly through adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and luminol with Tb was employed to construct a dual-ligand coordinated AMP-Tb-luminol coordination polymers (CPs), which emitted the typical fluorescence of luminol. Based on the sensitization effect of ciprofloxacin (CIP) on the luminescence of Tb, a ratiometric sensor was fabricated using the fluorescence of luminol as an inert reference. The fluorescent intensity ratios of Tb to that of luminol enhanced linearly with the CIP concentration in the range from 5 nM to 2.5 μM with a lower limit of detection of 2 nM. In addition, the proposed ratiometric fluorescent sensor exhibited high selectivity for CIP, which could also be used to detect CIP in human blood serum (HBS) with satisfactory results. To our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of using dual-ligand coordination lanthanide (Ln)-based CPs for ratio-metric CIP assay, and this straightforward strategy may open up a new platform for designing the ratio-metric sensors based on the Ln CPs.

Near-infrared wavelength-selective soft actuators have attracted much attention for applications in microsystems in bioliving. It is desirable for the photothermal conversion materials in the actuators to be downsized to the molecular scale. However, in conventional actuator materials using copolymer gels composed of thermosensitive and photothermal conversion molecule-coordinated monomers, the strong cross-linking of molecules in the networks impairs the actuator deformation.

Hydrogel-based sensors typically demonstrate conspicuous swelling behavior in aqueous environments, which can severely compromise the mechanical integrity and distort sensing signals, thereby considerably constraining their widespread applicability. Drawing inspiration from the multilevel heterogeneous structures in biological tissues, an antiswelling hydrogel sensor endowed with high strength, rapid self-recovery, and low swelling ratio was fabricated through a water-induced phase separation and coordination cross-linking strategy. A dense heterogeneous architecture was developed by the integration of "rigid" quadridentate carboxyl-Zr coordination bonds and "soft" hydrophobic unit-rich regions featuring π-π stacking and cation-π interactions into the hydrogels.

Reducing aggregation caused quenching and enhancing stability is crucial in the fabrication of organic light-emitting diodes. Herein, we successfully fabricated blue-emitting coordination polymer glasses using perylene dye and a zinc-based coordination glass. The aggregation of perylene monomers in the solid state was significantly suppressed, and the hybrid glass demonstrated high stability and strong photoluminescent quantum yield (75.

Membrane-based gas separation provides an energy-efficient approach for the simultaneous CO and HS removal from sour natural gas. The fluorinated polyimide (PI) membranes exhibited a promising balance between permeability and permselectivity for sour natural gas separation. To further improve the separation efficiency of fluorinated PI membranes, a melamine-copolymerization synthetic approach is devised that aims to incorporate melamine motifs with high sour gas affinity into the structure of the PI membranes.
