This paper has selected dicyclohexanocucurbit[6]uril (CyHQ[6]) as the host and 2-phenylbenzimidazole () as the guest to investigate the host-guest interaction mode between CyHQ[6] and . Under acidic conditions, the complex was characterized using nuclear magnetic resonance, ultraviolet and fluorescence spectroscopy. The results show that the molecular ratio of CyHQ[6] to is 2 : 1. The crystals were cultured with ZnCl as a structural inducer under acidic conditions and single crystal X-ray diffraction showed that the molecular ratio of CyHQ[6] to is 1 : 3. The G@CyHQ[6] was used as a fluorescent probe to identify metal cations. The probe exhibits a good selective recognition effect toward Fe ions, which involves a reduced fluorescence intensity with a limit of detection of 1.321 × 10 mol l.

Heavy metals released from metallic sulfidic tailings pose significant environmental threats by contaminating surface and groundwater in mining areas. Sustainable rehabilitation methods are essential to remove or stabilize these metals, improving the quality of acid mine drainage and minimizing pollution. This study examines the adsorption capacity of zinc ions (Zn) by different iron-silicate mineral groups under natural weathering and bacteria-regulated weathered conditions.

The gut microbiota plays a crucial regulatory role in various physiological processes, yet its impact on corneal homeostasis remains insufficiently understood. Here, we investigate the effects of antibiotic-induced gut dysbiosis (AIGD) and germ-free (GF) conditions on circadian gene expression, barrier integrity, nerve density, and immune cell activity in the corneas of mice. Through RNA sequencing, we found that both AIGD and GF conditions significantly disrupted the overall transcriptomic profile and circadian transcriptomic oscillations in the cornea.

A biohydrogen and polyhydroxyalkanoates(PHA)-producing natural photoheterotrophic mixed culture composed mainly by Rhodopseudomonas palustris and Clostridium sp was studied by a proteomic analysis under non-growth conditions (nitrogen-absence and organic acids). Proteins in C. pasteurianum were upregulated, particularly those related to stress response.

Endocytosis is a prominent mechanism for SARS-CoV-2 entry into host cells. Upon internalization into early endosomes (EEs), the virus is transported to late endosomes (LEs), where acidic conditions facilitate spike protein processing and viral genome release. Dynein and kinesin motors drive EE transport along microtubules; dynein moves EEs to the perinuclear region, while kinesins direct them towards the plasma membrane, creating a tug-of-war over the direction of transport.

Extreme conditions, such as cold and high humidity in northeast China's high-latitude maize region, can hinder crop yield and stability during the vegetative stage. However, there is a paucity of research examining the effects of simultaneous cold and high humidity stress on plant responses. In this study, we characterized the acclimation of JD558 (cold- and high humidity-sensitive hybrid) and JD441 (cold- and high humidity-tolerant hybrid) to stress at sowing caused by cold (4 °C), high humidity (25%), and their combined stress for five days, using physiological measurements and metabolomics during the stress treatments and recovery stages.
