Extracts of the mantle and viscera of the Indo-Pacific nudibranchs and sp. 1 afforded 11 new diterpenoids (-), all of which possess a tetracyclic spongian-16-one scaffold with extensive oxidation at C-6, C-7, C-11, C-12, C-13, and/or C-20. The structures and relative configuration were investigated by NMR experiments, while X-ray crystallography provided the absolute configuration of , including a 2' configuration for the 2-methylbutanoate substituent located at C-7. Dissection of animal tissue revealed that the mantle and viscera tissues differed in their metabolite composition with diterpenes - present in the mantle tissue of the two nudibranch species.

Despite the shortfin squid, Illex argentinus, is one of the most important commercial species for the Argentine fisheries, being the third frozen product exported to Europe, the occurrence and distribution of zoonotic anisakid nematodes is scarcely reported. A total of 712 I. argentinus distributed in 17 samples, corresponding to its three main commercial stocks, caught along its distribution range in Argentine waters were examined for anisakid parasites.

Physiological and biochemical responses of the pulmonate mud snail, Amphibola crenata, to waterborne cadmium (Cd) were investigated to determine the mechanisms of toxicity and impacts of a 21-d Cd exposure. Mud snails were exposed to nominal Cd concentrations of 0, 0.2, 4 and 8 mg L and bioaccumulation, whole animal physiological (oxygen consumption, ammonia excretion and oxygen:nitrogen), and tissue level biochemical (catalase activity, lipid peroxidation, glycogen, glucose and protein) endpoints were measured every 7 days.

In the study of the biology of trematode species, the knowledge of the larval stages in snail hosts is important to elucidate their complete life cycle. The goal of the present study was to describe a new tetracotyle-type metacercaria found in the freshwater mollusk Biomphalaria straminea sampled in a rice field from Corrientes province, Argentina. To this end, 1,768 snails were collected from the cultivated plots and irrigated channels during the flooding periods (from the time of sowing to soon after rice harvesting) between December 2016 and May 2017.

Parasitic ascaridoid nematodes occur in a wide range of marine organisms across the globe. Some species of the anisakid family (Ascaridoidea: Anisakidae) can cause gastrointestinal disease in humans (i. e.
