Objectives: The aim of the present study was to investigate relationships between insertion/deletion () polymorphism at angiotensin-converting enzyme gene () and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as their interactions on blood pressure.
Methods: Variants of were identified by polymerase chain reaction method and verified by DNA sequencing. PTSD symptoms were assessed by the PTSD Checklist-Civilian Version (PCL-C) based on DSM-IV-TR criteria among high school students at 6 months after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake.
Results: Female subjects were found to have higher prevalence of PTSD and PCL-C scores than male counterparts in the II homozygotes ( = .038 for PTSD and = .003 for PCL-C scores) and the ID heterozygotes ( = .000 for PTSD and = .000 for PCL-C scores), but not in the DD homozygotes. Male subjects with the ID ( = .046) or the DD genotype ( = .039) had lower pulse pressure (PP) than the male II homozygotes, while the female II homozygotes had lower diastolic blood pressure (DBP) than the female DD homozygotes ( = .036). , PTSD, or PCL-C scores, as well as gender and BMI, were found to be the predictors of PP.
Conclusions: These results indicate that there are interactions of and PTSD, together with gender and BMI, on PP. This finding may be the additional explanation for the heterogeneous relationships between PTSD and blood pressure, and suggest psychiatry care and different medication strategies for patients with comorbidities of PTSD and hypertension and with different genotypes of .

Objective: Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) is effective in treating major depressive disorder (MDD) with childhood trauma, and virtual reality (VR) can further extend its application form. However, the utilization of VR-EMDR in treating MDD with childhood trauma is still in its infancy, and whether it can improve depressive symptoms and traumatic experience remains unknown.
Method: Seventy-two MDD patients were randomly allocated to the intervention group and the wait-list control group on a 1:1 basis.

Background: Special Operations Forces (SOF) have become the solution to many of the United States military challenges due to their ability to conduct time sensitive, clandestine, and high-risk missions. Historically, SOF were assumed to be resilient to the psychological sequelae of war, including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). However, the objective burden of PTSD in SOF, particularly after traumatic brain injury (TBI), remains unknown.

Objective: Fear of progression (FoP) among stroke patients is closely associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), perceived social support, and coping styles. However, there is still limited research on the mechanism of interaction among these four factors. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating role of coping styles and perceived social support in the relationship between FoP and PTSD among stroke patients.
