Chiral enantiomers have different effects on biological processes. Enantiomer separation is significant and necessary. Herein, a photothermal (PT) effect-derived enantioselective desorption strategy based on homochiral Au/TiO nanotubes (NTs) is developed. Using 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) as the model enantiomer, an obvious selective desorption of L/D-DOPA can be achieved by the NIR light-triggered local temperature enhancement. Molecular docking simulation further verifies that the distinct affinity precipitated by the different hydrogen bonds between homochiral sorbent and target enantiomers is the origin of enantioselective desorption. This desorption strategy provides a green and alternative approach for the selective separation of chiral molecules.

Ionic liquid (IL) units in heterogeneous catalysts exhibit synergistic effects to enhance catalytic performance and stabilize catalytically active centers, while also preventing the degradation of catalysts during the reaction process. Ionic liquid units in IL-functionalized CMOF catalysts enhance their catalytic performance in a synergistic manner. However, not only are the yields of IL-functionalized CMOFs obtained with post-synthesis methods low, but they also lead to blocking of the MOF pores and leaching of the ionic liquid.

The chirality of biopolymers remains one of the mysteries of Life. For such objects, the phenomenon of supramolecular chirality (SMC) is vital. Enantiomers can be recognized by the adsorption on surfaces with SMC.

Enantio-discrimination and spin-dependent electrochemistry (SDE), as a manifestation of the chirality-induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect, are important phenomena that can be probed by "chiral" electrochemistry. Here, we prepared chiralized surfaces of gold and nickel, to serve as working electrodes, through effective chemisorption of enantiopure dimethyl-bis(ethylenedithio)-tetrathiafulvalene (DM-BEDT-TTF) 1, tetramethyl-bis(ethylenedithio)-tetrathiafulvalene (TM-BEDT-TTF) 2, and their capped silver nanoparticle (AgNPs) aggregate by simple incubation of the metallic substrates. The effective chemisorption was checked by means of ultrahigh vacuum x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and by electro-desorption experiments, i.

A newly synthesized charged chiral tag-enabled enantioselective imaging of D-,L-2-hydroxyglutaric acid, which are independently associated with the regulation of DNA methylation. The tag-conjugated diastereomers were ionized efficiently through MALDI, separated by ion mobility spectrometry, and further separated from other molecules in mass spectrometry. On-tissue chiral derivatization using the tag facilitated the visualization of different distributions of the two isomers in the mouse testis.

We herein report a novel chiral magnetic molybdenum disulfide nanocomposite (MMoS/PNG-CD) with a high enantioselectivity and excellent thermosensitivity and magnetism. The prepared MMoS/PNG-CD shows temperature-dependent chiral discrimination and enantioselectivity toward a chiral drug -propranolol (-PPL), which is based on the molecular recognition ability of beta-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and the thermosensitivity of poly(-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM). The synthesized MMoS/PNG2-CD by using a monomer molar ratio of GMA to NIPAM of 2 : 1 demonstrates a high selectivity toward -PPL over -PPL due to the synergistic effect of the PNIPAM moieties and β-CD hosts.
