Nasal rehabilitation following basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and radiotherapy presents significant challenges due to the intricate balance between aesthetic and functional restoration. This case report discusses the rehabilitation of a 73-year-old male who underwent surgical excision and radiotherapy for BCC located on the left ala of the nose. Post-treatment, the patient experienced dissatisfaction with his facial appearance, negatively impacting his quality of life.

Introduction: The maternal mortality crisis in the United States disproportionately affects women who are Black, especially those living in the Gulf South. These disparities result from a confluence of healthcare, policy, and social factors that systematically place Black women at greater risk of maternal morbidities and mortality. This study protocol describes the Southern Center for Maternal Health Equity (SCMHE), a research center funded by the National Institutes of Health in 2023 to reduce preventable causes of maternal morbidity and mortality while improving health equity.

Introduction: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by deficits in social interaction and communication, along with restricted and repetitive behaviors. Both genetic and environmental factors contribute to ASD, with prenatal exposure to valproic acid (VPA) and nicotine being linked to increased risk. Impaired adult hippocampal neurogenesis, particularly in the ventral region, is thought to play a role in the social deficits observed in ASD.
