To determine the basis for perinatal nutritional mismatch causing metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and diabetes mellitus, we examined adult phenotype, hepatic transcriptome, and pancreatic β-islet function. In prenatal caloric restricted rat with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) and postnatal exposure to high fat with fructose (HFhf) or high carbohydrate (RC), we investigated male and female IUGR-Hfhf and IUGR-RC, versus HFhf and CON offspring. Males more than females displayed adiposity, glucose intolerance, insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia, hepatomegaly with hepatic steatosis.

The effects of social isolation (SI) during middle age remain unclear, so we tested the hypothesis that SI would lead to an increase in impulsive choice (IC), anxiety-like behavior, and metabolic dysfunction in middle-aged rats. Male and female rats were housed individually or in groups of four with same-sex housing mates at 11 months of age. Two months later, IC behavior was assessed using a delay-discounting task and anxiety-like behavior through a novelty-suppressed feeding (NSF) task.

Aims: To describe the imaging features of patients presenting with soft tissue masses and a provisional diagnosis of soft tissue tumours, for whom biopsy confirmed the presence of necrotising granulomata consistent with tuberculoma.

Material And Methods: A review of the histopathology database for patients who had a diagnosis of necrotising granulomata in nonspinal sites. Patients with bone and joint-based pathology were excluded.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a prevalent hepatic disorder worldwide. Arachidonic acid 15-lipoxygenase (ALOX15), an enzyme catalyzing the peroxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids, plays a crucial role in various diseases. Here, we sought to investigate the involvement of ALOX15 in MASLD.

Department of Otolaryngology, School of Medicine, Ajou University, Suwon, Republic of Korea. Electronic address:

Excessive adipocyte differentiation and accumulation contribute to the development of metabolic disorders. Growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) plays an essential role in energy homeostasis and is considered an anti-obesity factor; however, elevated serum levels of endogenous GDF15 have been reported in certain individuals with obesity. In this study, to gain a better understanding of this complex relationship between GDF15 levels and obesity, we investigated GDF15 expression and function during adipogenesis.
