The Hajj pilgrimage, one of the world's largest and most diverse mass gatherings, poses unique challenges for preventing infectious disease outbreaks. Vaccinations are vital in reducing the risk and spread of diseases during this event. This narrative review examines the impact of vaccination programs on infectious disease mitigation during the Hajj and their broader implications for global health security (GHS).

A scrutiny analysis of the COVID-19 data is required to get insights into effective strategies for pandemic control. However, there is a gap between official data and methods used to assess the effectiveness of the potential measures, which was partly addressed in an editorial-letter-type discussion on the impact of the COVID-19 passport in Lithuania. The therein-applied descriptive statistics method provides only limited evidence, while detailed analysis requires more sensitive and reliable methods.

CRISPR based nucleic acid detection technology provides a deployable approach to point of care testing. While, there remain challenges limiting its practical applications, such as the need for pre-amplification and the long turnaround time. Here, we present a self-cascade signal amplification method with LwaCas13a and an artificially designed "U" rich RNA of stem-loop structure (URH) for pre-amplification-free ultra-fast and ultra-sensitive point-of-care testing (PASSPORT).

The aim was to analyze the perception of Brazilian federal judges on the implications of COVID-19 vaccination. A study was carried out with Brazilian federal judges, who received a survey designed with multiple-choice questions on COVID-19 vaccination, covering topics such as its mandatory aspect, the application of coercive measures, hesitation to vaccinate, priority groups, the duties of Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa, acronym in Portuguese), the role of the Judiciary branch, and immunity passports. A total of 254 out of 1,300 federal judges from all states responded to the survey.
