As the number of forcibly displaced vulnerable populations accelerates worldwide, it is increasingly important that health care systems and professionals be prepared to offer comprehensive, culturally, and linguistically appropriate services to migrant and refugee populations. Understanding the unique needs and lived experiences of these populations, including their risks to health and wellbeing as well as opportunities to promote resilience, is necessary to support these populations' diverse needs. Integrated primary care teams are uniquely poised to support these populations by reducing barriers to health and promoting equitable and holistic care. Acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) encompass various etiologies and are distinguished by the onset of acute pulmonary inflammation and heightened permeability of the pulmonary vasculature, often leading to substantial morbidity and frequent mortality. There is a scarcity of viable approaches for treating effectively. In recent decades, acupuncture has been proven to be antiinflammatory.

Background: The ECM (extracellular matrix) provides the microenvironmental niche sensed by resident vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). Aging and disease are associated with dramatic changes in ECM composition and properties; however, their impact on the VSMC phenotype remains poorly studied.
Methods: Here, we describe a novel in vitro model system that utilizes endogenous ECM to study how modifications associated with age and metabolic disease impact the VSMC phenotype.

Background: Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a malignant tumor with high morbidity and mortality, and easy to develop resistance to chemotherapeutic agents. Telomeres are DNA-protein complexes located at the termini of chromosomes in eukaryotic cells, which are unreplaceable in maintaining the stability and integrity of genome. Telomerase, an RNA-dependent DNA polymerase, play vital role in telomere length maintain, targeting telomerase is a promising therapeutic strategy for cancer.

Objective: Neuronal damage is criminal to cognitive dysfunction, closely related to endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS). However, due to the pathogenesis of endotoxin-induced long-term cognitive dysfunction is not fully clarified, there is still a lack of effective treatment. This study was conducted to explore the protective effects and mechanism of rosmarinic acid (RA) against ERS in endotoxin-induced cognitive dysfunction in mice and neuronal injury in cells.

Sepsis is a systemic infection that significantly causes morbidity and mortality among neonates, which is associated with immature immune response. Variations in the tumor necrosis factor-alpha gene () -308G/A may be linked to neonatal sepsis mortality by modulating interleukins (ILs) involved in the immune response cascade, such as IL-6. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between -308G/A gene variation and IL-6 level with mortality of neonatal sepsis.
