Addition of dioxygen at low temperature to the non-heme ferrous complex Fe(MeTACN)((OSi)O) () in 2-MeTHF produces a peroxo-bridged diferric complex Fe(μ-O)(MeTACN)((OSi)O) (), which was characterized by UV-vis, resonance Raman, and variable field Mössbauer spectroscopies. Illumination of a frozen solution of in THF with white light leads to homolytic O-O bond cleavage and generation of a Fe(O) complex (ν(Fe=O) = 818 cm; δ = 0.22 mm s, Δ = 0.23 mm s). Variable field Mössbauer spectroscopy measurements show that is a rare example of a high-spin = 2 Fe(O) complex and the first synthetic example to be generated directly from O. Complex is highly reactive, as expected for a high-spin ferryl, and decays rapidly in fluid solution at cryogenic temperatures. This decay process in 2-MeTHF involves C-H cleavage of the solvent. However, the controlled photolysis of with visible light and excess phenol substrate leads to competitive phenol oxidation, via the proposed transient generation of as the active oxidant.

A circadian clock (CC) has evolved in plants that synchronizes their growth and development with daily and seasonal cycles. A properly functioning circadian clock contributes to increasing plant growth, reproduction, and competitiveness. In plants, continuous light treatment has been a successful approach for obtaining novel knowledge about the circadian clock.

Congenital arhinia and hyporhinia are rare facial anomalies whose knowledge usually comes from case reports. The severity of each case described in literature is variable; it also depends on associated malformations too. Since the newborns are obligate nasal breathers, babies with arhinia or hyporhinia usually have respiratory distress and need airway stabilization.

Chloride-induced corrosion of steel rebars embedded in mortar was effectively controlled by blending of gallic acid in wet mixture. Mixing of optimized concentration of gallic acid (GA) inhibitor (0.125%) in mortars considerably increased the charge transfer resistance of embedded rebars (80.

To investigate the remediation effect of iron-manganese-modified biochar from different biomasses (FM-BC) on Cd-contaminated alkaline soil, FM-BC was prepared using branches of , durian shells, and corn stalks. The characteristics of FM-BC, the adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) in water, and the available, fraction of Cd in alkaline soil were studied using bath adsorption and soil culture experiments. The results showed that the specific surface area, total pore volume, and oxygen content of FM-BC were significantly improved.

In this study, the rhombohedral crystalline pure phase BiFeO (BFO) of irregularly shaped spherical particles of ≈100 nm and energy bandgap of ≈2.31 eV are synthesized by sol-gel auto-combustion method and explored as electrode material for photo-assisted supercapacitor. The electronic structure studies revealed that the coexistence of heterovalent Bi and Fe elements accelerated the electrochemical redox kinetics and photo-assisted charge storage properties.
