Myoelectric control has emerged as a promising approach for a wide range of applications, including controlling limb prosthetics, teleoperating robots and enabling immersive interactions in the Metaverse. However, the accuracy and robustness of myoelectric control systems are often affected by various factors, including muscle fatigue, perspiration, drifts in electrode positions and changes in arm position. The latter has received less attention despite its significant impact on signal quality and decoding accuracy.

Robotic devices with integrated tactile sensors can accurately perceive the contact force, pressure, sliding, and other tactile information, and they have been widely used in various fields, including human-robot interaction, dexterous manipulation, and object recognition. To address the challenges associated with the initial value drift, and to improve the durability and accuracy of the tactile detection for a robotic dexterous hand, in this study, a flexible tactile sensor is designed with high repeatability by introducing a supporting layer for pre-separation. The proposed tactile sensor has a detection range of 0-5 N with a resolution of 0.

Mate limitation in small populations can reduce reproductive fitness, hinder population growth, and increase extinction risk. Mate limitation is exacerbated in self-incompatible (SI) taxa, where shared S-alleles further restrict mating. Theory suggests genetic drift as a predictor of mate limitation and the breakdown of SI systems.

The E6 and E7 proteins of the high risk human papillomaviruses (HR HPVs) play a key role in the oncogenesis associated with papillomavirus infection. Data on the variability of these proteins are limited, and the factors affecting their variability are still poorly understood. We analyzed the variability of the currently known sequences of the HPV type 16 (HPV16) E6 and E7 proteins, taking into account their geographic origin and year of sample collection, as well as the direction of their evolution in the major geographic regions of the world.

Uncertainty-aware soft sensors in sign language recognition (SLR) integrate methods to quantify and manage the uncertainty in their predictions. This is particularly crucial in SLR due to the variability in sign language gestures and differences in individual signing styles. Managing uncertainty allows the system to handle variations in signing styles, lighting conditions, and occlusions more effectively.
