E-textiles have shown great potential for development of soft sensors in applications such as rehabilitation and soft robotics. However, existing approaches require the textile sensors to be attached externally onto a substrate or the garment surface. This paper seeks to address the issue by embedding the sensor directly into the wearable using a computer numerical control (CNC) knitting machine. First, we proposed a design of the wearable knee brace. Next, we demonstrated the capability to knit a sensor with the stretchable surrounding fabric. Subsequently, we characterized the sensor and developed a model for the sensor's electromechanical property. Lastly, the fully knitted knee brace with embedded sensor is tested, by performing three different activities: a simple Flexion-extension exercise, walking, and jogging activity with a single test subject. Results show that the knitted knee brace sensor can track the subject's knee motion well, with a Spearman's coefficient (r) value of 0.87 when compared to the reference standard.

The reported case describes a traumatic anterior knee dislocation of a previous asymptomatic knee after a posterior cruciate-retaining primary knee arthroplasty. The described patient accidentally rolled over her knee six years after the surgical intervention. Anterior traumatic dislocation after knee arthroplasty is an uncommon event often leading to prosthetic's components revision due to its associated ligament injuries.

Falls are common in mountain biking (MTB), and often involve high speeds, large descent heights, and rough landing terrains. However, most falls in MTB do not cause serious injury. This may be due, in part, to protective movements used by MTB riders to avoid injury.

To compare the clinical outcomes of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction using autografts with and without internal brace augmentation. Data from patients who underwent ACL reconstruction with hamstring and quadriceps tendon autografts, with a minimum follow-up of one year, with or without internal brace augmentation were collected prospectively analyzed retrospectively. The Lysholm and Tegner functional scores were collected before and after surgery, as well as data on postoperative complications.

Acute first-time traumatic patellar dislocation is a prevalent knee injury, particularly in adolescents, often managed conservatively with knee bracing. Recently, medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction has gained popularity for its potential benefits in reducing redislocation rates and enhancing functional outcomes. This systematic review and meta-analysis compared the outcomes of MPFL reconstruction versus knee bracing for managing acute first-time traumatic patellar dislocation.

Objectives: To explore physiotherapists' experiences and perceived acceptability of delivering a bracing intervention for knee osteoarthritis (OA) in the 'PROvision of braces for Patients with knee OA' (PROP OA) randomised controlled trial.
Method: Semi-structured telephone interviews with consenting physiotherapists who received the PROP OA training programme and delivered the knee bracing intervention (advice, information and exercise instruction plus knee brace matched to patients' clinical and radiographic presentation and with adherence support). Interviews were recorded and transcribed verbatim.
