Zirconium dioxide (ZrO) is one of the ceramic materials with high potential in many areas of modern technologies. ZrO doped with 8 wt.% (~4.5 mol%) YO is a commercial powder used for obtaining stabilized zirconia materials (8 wt.% YSZ) with high temperature resistance and good ionic conductivity. During recent years it was reported the co-doping with multiple rare earth elements has a significant influence on the thermal, mechanical and ionic conductivity of zirconia, due complex grain size segregation and enhanced oxygen vacancies mobility. Different methods have been proposed to synthesize these materials. Here, we present the hydrothermal synthesis of 8 wt.% (~4.5 mol%) YSZ co-doped with 4, 6 and 8 wt.% LaO, NdO, SmO and GdO respectively. The crystalline phases formed during their thermal treatment in a large temperature range were analyzed by X-ray diffraction. The evolution of phase composition vs. thermal treatment temperatures shows as a major trend the formation at temperatures >1000 °C of a cubic solid solutions enriched in the rare earth oxide used for co-doping as major phase. The first results on the thermal conductivities and impedance measurements on sintered pellets obtained from powders co-doped with 8 wt.% Y and 6% Ln (Ln = La, Nd, Sm and Gd) and the corresponding activation energies are presented and discussed. The lowest thermal conductivity was obtained for La co-doped 8 wt.% YSZ while the lowest activation energy for ionic conduction for Gd co-doped 8 wt.% YSZ materials.

This study investigates the structural and luminescent properties UV radiation of Tb³⁺-doped K₇CaY₂(B₅O₁₀)₃ (KCYBO) phosphors prepared using a microwave-assisted sol-gel method, with a focus on the impact of Na⁺ co-doping. Tb³⁺ ions were effectively integrated as evidenced by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Rietveld analysis, without disrupting the crystal structure. Photoluminescence (PL) analysis showed intense green emissions at 542 nm, which are due to the D₄ → F₅ transition in Tb³⁺.

In this paper, we prepared a new type of iron and nitrogen co-doped porous carbon material (WSC-Fe/N) using a carbonization-activation process with wheat straw as a precursor and FeCl and NHCl as co-doping agents and analyzed the electrochemical properties of the resulting electrode material. Through precise control of the doping elements and carbonization temperature (900 °C), the resulting WSC-Fe/N-900 material exhibits abundant micropores, uniform mesopores, a significant specific surface area (2576.6 m g), an optimal level of iron doping (1.

Co-doping strategy is done if the emission from the activator is relatively low with existing excitation energy. Thus, to enrich the emission from an activator, the sensitizer like Bi is co-doped onto the host and this intermediator transfers its emission energy to the activator. Prior to the study, no investigations had been conducted, marking the foundational exploration of the sensitizer effect within the rare earth-doped SrCeO matrix aimed at enhancing luminescence properties.

Combining terrestrial biomass as the reductant with submarine-type hydrothermal environments for CO reduction represents a possible approach for novel energy production systems that sustainably circulate carbon. However, increasing the reductive power of biomass is the main limitation of this potential method. Herein, we demonstrate that Co-doped with small amounts of Pd enhances the reduction of CO by selectively producing an active intermediate from carbohydrates.

In this study, an investigation was conducted on the structural and photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of LaAlBO (LAB) phosphors initially incorporated with Dy and Eu ions. Subsequently, the impact of varying Eu concentration while maintaining a constant Dy concentration was examined. Structural characterization was performed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).
