In solution-processed organic-inorganic halide perovskite films, halide-anion related defects including halide vacancies and interstitial defects can easily form at the surfaces and grain boundaries. The uncoordinated lead cations produce defect levels within the band gap, and the excess iodides disturb the interfacial carrier transport. Thus these defects lead to severe nonradiative recombination, hysteresis, and large energy loss in the device. Herein, polyacrylonitrile (PAN) was introduced to passivate the uncoordinated lead cations in the perovskite films. The coordinating ability of cyano group was found to be stronger than that of the normally used carbonyl groups, and the strong coordination could reduce the I/Pb ratio at the film surface. With the PAN perovskite film, the device efficiency improved from 21.58 % to 23.71 % and the open-circuit voltage from 1.12 V to 1.23 V, the ion migration activation energy increased, and operational stability improved.

In this study, we report the successful fabrication of a novel antibacterial triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) using a polymer composite film based on polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride (PHMG). The composite materials, with optimised ingredient ratios, consist of PHMG, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and glutaraldehyde (GA) as a crosslinking agent (PHMG-GA-PVA). Utilising 3D printing, these composite materials were directly deposited on the conductive substrates and used as positive TENG electrodes.

The integration of fluorinated benzothiadiazole (FBT) into donor-acceptor (D-A) copolymers represents a major advancement in the field of organic solar cells (OSCs). The fluorination process effectively fine-tunes the energy levels, reduces the highest occupied molecular orbital levels, and enhances the open-circuit voltages of the polymers. Furthermore, fluorination improves molecular packing and crystallinity, which significantly boosts the charge transport and overall device performance.

This study investigates the electronic properties and photovoltaic (PV) performance of newly designed bithiophene-based dyes, focusing on their light harvesting efficiency (LHE), open-circuit voltage (V), fill factor (FF), and short-circuit current density (J).These new dyes are designed with the help of machine learning (ML) to design best donor acceptor designs. For this, we collect 2567 differenr electron donor groups and calculated their bandgap with the help of Random Forest (RF) Regression method.

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are regarded as extremely efficient and have significant potential for upcoming photovoltaic technologies due to their excellent optoelectronic properties. However, a few obstacles, which include the instability and high costs of production of lead-based PSCs, hinder their commercialization. In this study, the performance of a solar cell with a configuration of FTO/CdS/BaZrS/HTL/Ir was optimized by varying the thickness of the perovskite layer, the hole transport layer, the temperature, the electron transport layer (ETL)'s defect density, the absorber defect density, the energy band, and the work function for back contact.

This paper explores a novel group of D-π-A configurations that has been specifically created for organic solar cell applications. In these material compounds, the phenothiazine, the furan, and two derivatives of the thienyl-fused IC group act as the donor, the π-conjugated spacer, and the end-group acceptors, respectively. We assess the impact of substituents by introducing bromine atoms at two potential substitution sites on each end-group acceptor (EG1 and EG2).
