Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a major health problem in Switzerland, as myocardial infarction or stroke, all three sharing common cardiovascular (CV) risk factors and similar pathophysiological mechanisms (atherosclerosis). Unfortunately, PAD is still often overlooked, despite being fraught with significant morbidity/mortality and increasing the patient's overall CV risk. It is therefore essential to improve secondary prevention in order to decrease this burden and the overall CV risk of the patient. We will review the treatment targets for CV risk factors as secondary prevention in patients with PAD and see how the use of a vascular passport may improve management.

Background: Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) are disproportionately affected by housing insecurity across the US. This study examined the association between homelessness and uptake of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention among GBMSM in the United States and investigated the modifying effect of injection drug use.
Methods: 47,750 cisgender GBMSM who participated in the American Men's Internet Survey from 2017 to 2021 and who self-reported not living with HIV were included in this secondary, cross-sectional analysis.

The burden of cardiovascular disease has declined in high-income countries in the past 3 decades but is growing in low- and middle-income countries due to epidemiological, demographic, and socioeconomic shifts. Circular RNA (circRNA) has gained attention as a promising platform for mRNA vaccines due to its stability, sustained protein expression, and intrinsic immunostimulatory properties. This study aimed to design and optimize a circRNA cancer vaccine platform by screening for efficient internal ribosome entry sites (IRES) and enhancing circRNA translation efficiency for improved cancer immunotherapy.
