Context: Cleaning consists of different activities such as mopping, sweeping, swabbing, dusting, disposing of trash, and buffing. These different physical activities of the cleaners can change the body's normal biomechanics, possibly leading to the development of musculoskeletal disorders over time.
Aims: This study aimed to check the ergonomic risk and its relationship with age, BMI, and work experience among cleaners.

Background: Noninvasive prenatal diagnosis (NIPD) has been proven feasible for non-syndromic hearing loss (NSHL) in singleton pregnancies. However, previous research is limited to the second trimester and the application in twin pregnancies is blank. Here we provide a novel algorithmic approach to assess singleton and twin pregnancies in the first trimester.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in soil is an ancient phenomenon with widespread spatial presence in terrestrial ecosystems. However, the natural processes shaping the temporal dissemination of AMR in soils are not well understood. We aimed to determine whether, how, and why AMR varies with soil age in recently deglaciated pioneer and developing Arctic soils using a space-for-time approach.

Assessing the impact of climate change on water-related ecosystem services (ES) in Protected Areas (PAs) is essential for developing soil and water conservation strategies that promote sustainability and restore ES. However, the application of ES research in Protected Area (PA) management remains ambiguous and has notable shortcomings. This study primarily aimed to assess the SDR-InVEST (Sediment Delivery Ratio-Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs) model for estimating ES, including soil loss, sediment export, and sediment retention, under various climate change scenarios from 1997 to 2100 in the data-scarce region of the Bagh-e-Shadi Forest PA.

Many alpine ecosystems are undergoing vegetation degradation because of global changes, which are affecting ecosystem functioning and biodiversity. The ecological consequences of alpine pioneer community degradation have been less studied than glacial retreat or meadow degradation in alpine ecosystems. We document the comprehensive responses of microbial community characteristics to degradation processes using field-based sampling, conduct soil microcosm experiments to simulate the effects of global change on microorganisms, and explore their relationships to ecosystem functioning across stages of alpine pioneer community degradation.
