The white finger millet (WFM) KMR-340 flour: native (untreated), roasted (120 °C, 5 min) and germinated (30 ± 3 °C, 48 hrs) were characterised (nutritional, functional, thermal, pasting and rheological properties, X-ray diffraction, and FTIR). Germination significantly increased the protein, fibre, calcium, magnesium and antioxidant activity (14.66%) whereas decreased total ash, carbohydrate and fat. However, roasting significantly increased the carbohydrate, ash, fat, fibre and protein content. Roasting and germination significantly increased the non-essential amino acid contents, whereas the essential amino acid contents were reduced upon pretreatments. Though, processing methods improved the functional properties of millet flours, the pasting properties of the roasted and germinated flours were significantly varied from native flour. Rheological measurements revealed that all flour samples showed shear thinning behaviour (n < 1). The XRD patterns revealed that the percentage crystallinity reduced in the processed flours.

Oral squamous cell papilloma is a benign proliferation of the stratified squamous epithelium, associated with the human papillomavirus (HPV). The clinical manifestation includes papillary or verrucous exophytic mass. Complete excision of the lesion, including normal margins, followed by histopathological examination is the treatment of choice.

Aims: There is compelling evidence for the use of cemented hip hemiarthroplasty for displaced intracapsular hip fractures; however, the risks of cement are well reported and in rare cases may be associated with haemodynamic collapse. It is therefore important to improve our understanding of haemodynamic instability, intraoperative monitoring, and strategies to reduce the risk to patients.
Methods: We measured arterial blood pressure using the LiDCO Continuous Non-invasive Arterial Pressure (CNAP) finger cuff during surgery in patients enrolled in the WHiTE 5 trial randomized to cemented or modern uncemented hip hemiarthroplasty at a single recruiting site.

Background: Perivascular spaces (PVS) on brain MRI are surrogates for small parenchymal blood vessels and their perivascular compartment, and may relate to brain health. However, it is unknown whether PVS can predict dementia risk and brain atrophy trajectories in participants without dementia, as longitudinal studies on PVS are scarce and current methods for PVS assessment lack robustness and inter-scanner reproducibility.
Methods: We developed a robust algorithm to automatically assess PVS count and size on clinical MRI, and investigated 1) their relationship with dementia risk and brain atrophy in participants without dementia, 2) their longitudinal evolution, and 3) their potential use as a screening tool in simulated clinical trials.

Background: To reveal clinical findings related to metastatic conjunctival melanoma.
Methods: 10 ophthalmic oncology centres (9 countries and 4 continents) shared data to create a large clinical case series. The main outcome measures were the incidence and cumulative risk of systemic metastasis, study mortality rates and Kaplan-Meier patient mortality after developing conjunctival melanoma metastasis.
